Longlong Elementary School actively participated in the Philippine Red Cross Hands-Only CPR Caravan facilitated by the Philippine Red Cross – Benguet Chapter on July 21, 2026, at 3:30 PM, immediately after class hours.

The activity forms part of the nationwide observance of National CPR Day every July 17 and serves as a lead-up to the celebration of World Restart a Heart Day in October. The campaign aims to equip Filipinos with a simple yet life-saving skill that can significantly increase the survival chances of individuals experiencing sudden cardiac arrest before professional medical assistance arrives.

As one of the participating schools, Longlong Elementary School joined the Philippine Red Cross in promoting emergency preparedness through Hands-Only CPR demonstrations and practical training sessions. Grade 5 and Grade 6 learners, together with school personnel, were introduced to the importance of recognizing the early signs of cardiac arrest, activating the emergency response system, and immediately administering high-quality chest compressions while awaiting the arrival of emergency responders.

Since Hands-Only CPR for adult sudden cardiac arrest victims does not require rescue breaths, it is easier to learn and perform, empowering more individuals to respond confidently and effectively during emergencies. Through this initiative, the school further strengthened its commitment to fostering a culture of preparedness, resilience, and life-saving awareness among learners and school personnel.

Longlong Elementary School officially commenced the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) for all Kindergarten and Grade 1 learners on July 20, 2026, marking the beginning of the program that will continue over the coming school days to provide nutritious meals and promote the health and well-being of our young learners.

The meals served are prepared in accordance with the Division-approved Nutritional Cycle Menu, ensuring that learners receive balanced and nutritious meals. Each beneficiary is provided with a hot meal, which is served together with their packed lunch, helping meet their daily nutritional needs while supporting their learning and well-being.

Partnership with Guide Guardians Brotherhood International, Inc. (GGBIII)

On July 8, 2026, Longlong Elementary School and Guide Guardians Brotherhood International, Inc. (GGBIII) formally entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to strengthen collaboration in implementing school development initiatives. Through this partnership, GGBIII committed to mobilizing volunteers to support various school programs and activities, including community service and school-based volunteerism.

The agreement also covers assistance in school improvement, repair, beautification, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects, as well as participation in environmental initiatives such as tree planting, clean-up drives, and other environmental protection activities through the provision of volunteer manpower. In addition, GGBIII will support the school in disaster preparedness and emergency response initiatives to help promote a safe, resilient, and disaster-ready learning environment.

The MOA signing ceremony was signed by Mr. Jerome B. Tulic, School Principal I and Jay "PCGS GMF Bagwis" Moserrat, representative of Guide Guardians Brotherhood International, Inc. (GGBIII) and witnessed by Mr. Oliver S. Laurian Jr., Project Development Officer I and Mrs. Josiphine M. Edwas, School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA) President. The partnership signifies the shared commitment of the school and GGBIII to fostering community engagement, volunteerism, and sustainable school development for the benefit of learners and the wider community.

School Annual Implementation Planning (AIP) Workshop
July 7–8, 2026

Longlong Elementary School conducted its School Annual Implementation Planning (AIP) Workshop on July 7–8, 2026, after class hours, with the participation of school personnel and key stakeholders. The workshop focused on reviewing the school's performance, identifying priority needs, and developing strategic interventions for School Year 2026–2027.

Using the School Dashboard, School Performance Implementation Review (SPIR), stock-taking results, and SWOT Analysis, participants assessed the school's performance, identified gaps, and finalized the school's Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs), including performance indicators, implementation timelines, persons responsible, and budget requirements.

The workshop also integrated the implementation plans of the School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA) and stakeholders into the School Annual Implementation Plan (AIP), strengthening stakeholder collaboration and ensuring alignment with the School Improvement Plan (SIP) and the Department of Education's strategic priorities.

STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY SAFETY THROUGH AWARENESS AND PARTNERSHIP

On June 11, 2026, personnel of the Benguet 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), led by PMSg Augiemar Calanzo under the supervision of PLTCOL Marvie C. Amilao, FC, in coordination with personnel from the Benguet Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), conducted an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) session during the General PTA Meeting at Longlong Elementary School, Longlong, Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet.

The activity focused on important topics including Safety and Security Awareness, Crime and Theft Prevention, and Anti-Illegal Drugs. Parents, teachers, and other stakeholders were provided with valuable information on preventive measures, personal safety practices, and proper reporting procedures to help promote a safer school and community environment.

The session highlighted the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the community in maintaining peace and order. Participants were encouraged to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities promptly, and actively contribute to protecting the welfare of children and the security of the school.

Through initiatives such as this, the shared commitment of families, schools, and law enforcement continues to foster a safer and more secure learning environment for all.

To strengthen learning during emergencies and unexpected disruptions, the Department of Education (DepEd) has issued the Learning Continuity Matrix under DepEd Order No. 14, s. 2026.

This policy serves as a guide for Longlong Elementary School in ensuring that education continues even when regular classes are affected by natural disasters, health emergencies, or other unforeseen events. It outlines appropriate measures that schools may implement while giving importance to the safety, welfare, and mental health of both learners and school personnel.

The policy also features a four-level decision guide to assist schools in determining the most suitable course of action during class suspensions and similar situations.

Longlong Elementary School Participates in the Second Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED)

Longlong Elementary School actively participated in the Second Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on June 18, 2026, at 9:00 AM, demonstrating its commitment to disaster preparedness and the safety of all learners and personnel.

At the sound of the alarm, learners and school personnel promptly performed the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure inside their respective classrooms. After the simulated shaking stopped, they calmly and orderly evacuated the school premises through designated evacuation routes toward the identified assembly area.

Upon reaching the evacuation area, teachers and Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) officers conducted headcounts to ensure that all learners were accounted for and that no one was left behind. SELG officers also submitted drill status reports to the SELG Adviser to ensure proper documentation and accountability.

The activity concluded with a post-evaluation session, during which school personnel and participants assessed the effectiveness of the drill, identified strengths, and discussed areas for improvement in future emergency preparedness activities.

The Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill serves as an important reminder that earthquakes can occur without warning, making preparedness essential at all times. Through its active participation in the NSED, Longlong Elementary School reaffirmed its commitment to promoting a culture of safety, preparedness, resilience, and disaster awareness among learners and personnel.
