๐ Learning doesnโt just happen inside the classroom! ๐ก๐ฟ
Our BS Entrepreneurship students recently stepped onto the regional stage to pitch their ideas at the Go Healthy Innovation Challenge Roadshow โ Luzon Leg held at UP Baguio Balay Internasyonal! ๐๏ธโจ
Accompanied and guided by our supportive faculty member, Ms. Mary Ann M. Dampilag, our aspiring student entrepreneurs represented the department with grit, passion, and creative vision as they tackled real-world health and wellness challenges.
While we didn't take home the top prize this time, the journey, invaluable feedback from industry leaders, and exposure to the regional startup ecosystem are huge wins in themselves. Every pitch is a stepping stone toward bigger breakthroughs! ๐๐
A big thank you to the organizers and sponsorsโUP Baguio, DOST-CAR, The Fullsuite Pod, Blinc Technologies, and Baguio Breakfast Clubโfor hosting such an empowering event for Luzon innovators.
To our BS Entrepreneurship participants: We are so proud of your courage to innovate and pitch on a big stage! Keep refining, keep building, and on to the next venture! ๐ช๐ฅ

As part of the 2026 Benguet MSME Month Celebration, selected students specializing in Apparel and Fashion Enterprise (AFE) from the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship program, together with Dr. Cristina C. Agrabe, faculty member of the College of Home Economics and Technology, participated in the "WEAVING THE FUTURE: Preserving Heritage, Empowering Communities, Sustainably Sustaining Livelihood" forum.
The forum highlighted the vital role of weaving in preserving cultural heritage and strengthening community identity. Discussions emphasized that woven textiles are more than handcrafted productsโthey embody history, tradition, and the identity of the communities that create them. Participants also gained insights into the significance of cultural attire, the importance of respecting Indigenous communities and traditional knowledge, intellectual property protection for weaving traditions, and innovative initiatives such as the SalinHabi digital platform for documenting and safeguarding the country's weaving heritage.
The event also featured inspiring stories from industry practitioners, including the growth of Narda's and the journey of a young weaver from Tublay, demonstrating how craftsmanship and entrepreneurship can create sustainable livelihoods. The forum concluded with discussions on the role of the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship in developing future entrepreneurs who value innovation while preserving culture and supporting local industries.
More than a learning opportunity, the forum served as a reminder that preserving heritage requires collective action. As the weaving industry continues to evolve, initiatives like this mark the beginning of stronger collaboration among communities, institutions, and future entrepreneurs in sustaining the rich weaving traditions of Benguet and beyond.
