The 4-day 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 (𝐈𝐖𝐎𝐌𝐁) 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, throught the initiative of the Philippine Society of Mathematical Biology (PSMB), has officially concluded. Held from 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟔 𝐭𝐨 𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the workshop brought together selected BSAM students who were honored to gain valuable insights and be exposed to ongoing research in the field of mathematical biology. Beyond the enriching academic experience, it was truly a bonus for the participants to connect and socialize with fellow delegates from around the world.

Overall, IWOMB 2026 was a meaningful and inspiring experience—one that fostered learning, collaboration, and global camaraderie, leaving participants motivated to further explore and contribute to the field.

On 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, the Society of Applied Mathematics Students successfully conducted this year’s 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. We were honored to welcome 𝗠𝘀. 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘆𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗠. 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘇, an alumna of BS Applied Mathematics, as our guest speaker.

She inspired us with stories that reminded us that we are not alone in this journey—that our struggles are valid and shared by many. She emphasized that feeling lost is normal, and with the right amount of rest, we will always find our way back on track.

She concluded her talk with heartfelt words of comfort and encouragement, offering strength amidst the challenges we, as Applied Mathematics students, continue to face. The orientation was then succeeded by the team building activities.
