Turning a potential disruption into a productive learning experience, El Bernos Elementary School successfully held its 2026 Nutrition Month Culminating Program on Friday morning, July 24.
โThe event, authorized under School Memorandum No. 11, s. 2026 and approved by division officials, was scheduled from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon to maximize learner engagement despite a province-wide power outage spanning from 6:30 A.M. to 6:30 P.M.
โRecognizing that the 12-hour power loss would hinder regular classroom instruction, EBES utilized the outdoor window to promote healthy lifestyles, foster pupil participation, and strengthen school-community partnerships.
โThe morning program featured performances across all grade levels, with pupils from Grades 1 to 6 presenting nutrition-themed songs, poems, and dance numbers. Outstanding participants in individual contests were also recognized with certificates of recognition:

โTo ensure zero loss in instructional time due to the afternoon power suspension, the school shifted to Flexible Learning Options (FLO). Teachers distributed targeted activity sheets, learning modules, and take-home assignments to maintain learning continuity before dismissing the pupils.
Under the leadership of our School Head- sir Archie Collado Pre, the initiative highlighted the school's commitment to delivering uninterrupted, meaningful education and fostering health awareness even amid community power challenges.
