ELEVATE AND ALIGN | Yubo National High School

Learning never stops at Yubo National High School! On September 7 and 8, 2026, our school community gathered for an energizing two-day In-Service Training centered on "Elevate and Align: Transforming Classroom Assessment for National Readiness." Led by our dedicated school head and supported by our ADAS II, the workshop brought together 9 JHS teachers, 7 SHS teachers, 5 SEF teachers, and 6 ARAL tutors under one roof. Together, we stepped back from our busy routines to reflect on how we evaluate our students and how we can better support their growth.
Throughout the training, participants rolled up their sleeves for engaging, practical discussions. We began with the core Principles of Assessment and the essential link between Literacy and National Assessment, emphasizing that clear reading comprehension is the key to all student success. Teachers then took a hands-on approach to Crafting Better Tests by exploring global assessment standards like PISA, SEA-PLM, and TIMSS. The focus was on moving past simple memorization and designing questions that encourage critical thinking and real-world problem-solving.
To turn these insights into real classroom action, each department created a tailored Work Application Plan to guide their upcoming lessons. This guarantees that our new assessment strategies will directly benefit every learner right away. With our administration, teaching staff, SEF educators, and ARAL tutors working hand-in-hand, Yubo NHS is excited and ready to bring everyday classroom assessment to the next level!
