Reminder: Allow yourself room for a full range of emotions, without judgment.

"Men are not supposed to cry." "The woman's place is only inside the house."
These are all misconceptions. We are human and we feel emotions. We are all allowed to express ourselves in different ways, whatever space it is. You are allowed to take space, for as long as you are not hurting others.

Reminder: Other's behaviour is about THEM. So manage your reaction.

Last week's post mentioned that you are not responsible for others' feelings, but you are responsible for how you act on your emotions. You don't own the actions, mistakes and accomplishments of others.

Reminder: Don't go back to anything you have been rescued from.

Don't go back to traumatic & toxic relationships, broken friendships, and people who don't accept you for who you are. You are not responsible for other people's feelings, but you are responsible for your own emotions and how you act on them. You will find your people, ones who will accept you, tell you when you've done wrong and help you grow.

Reminder: You can't do healing work for others.

Other people's problems are not your own. It might feel good to help others, but you can only do so much for them. The person must also recognize that they need to work on their healing personally. This also applies to you. You can't let others do healing work for you. As the old Filipino adage says, "Nasa Dios ang Awa, Nasa Tao ang Gawa."
