‎MAKE HASTE | EnglishConnect Program launches Batch 3 for CoLA freshmen

‎College of Liberal Arts (CoLA) Freshmen participated in the EnglishConnect launch for Batch 3 at the Graduate School Library today, August 19.

‎“When you learn to speak and write in the English language, you're not simply passing a class; you are actually taking your unique Filipino perspectives and sharing them with the world,” said Prof. Cindy Villaseñor.

Elder Mike Davis and Sister Conchita Davis—EnglishConnect teachers—were introduced and welcomed during the launch. The couple missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, will be teaching the English language while promoting personal growth and confidence among participants.

‎EnglishConnect program, now on its third batch, aims to strengthen participants’ English communication skills, enabling them to express their ideas and Filipino perspectives with greater confidence. Beyond language learning, the program also deepens their faith and provides opportunities to expand their knowledge and develop skills that can benefit them in their studies and future careers.

MAKE HASTE | Freshmen continue to shine on Day 5 of Spirit Week 2026

The Spirit Week 2026 continued with an action-packed Day 5 as the freshmen showcased their energy, teamwork, and sportsmanship through a series of exciting games in their sports attire today, August 14.

Adding a twist to today's activities, the freshmen took on the Sack Race with a Twist, Pass the Flour, and Eat My Banana, putting their agility, coordination, and teamwork to the test. Each tribe participated with enthusiasm, filling the event with laughter, excitement, and friendly competition.

Meanwhile, the much-anticipated Mr. and Ms. Integration 2026 also participated in a photoshoot wearing their Coachella-inspired attire and department shirts. The photoshoots will contribute to the candidates' bid for the People's Choice Award and Mr. and Ms. Photogenic titles, adding another exciting element to this year's celebration.

However, Day 5 is not the end of the Spirit Week festivities. The tribes will take the coming days to prepare for the much-awaited culmination of the celebration—the Integration Day 2026 on August 20, where the highlights of this year's Spirit Week will unfold.

With the excitement continuing to build, the freshmen are ready to bring their best energy, creativity, and camaraderie to the final stretch of Spirit Week 2026.

MAKE HASTE | Freshmen take on the Day-2 Nerdy Scholar Quest

‎As the Spirit Week celebration continues on Day 2, freshmen dressed themselves as bright, nonchalant, smart scholars ready to conquer the quest of exams and trial missions today, August 11.

‎Today's quest encouraged freshmen to work together and familiarize themselves with the surroundings of the campus as they were challenged to complete tasks that put their critical thinking and teamwork skills to the test by solving riddles at different stations within the campus.

‎With all competitive participants from every house, the Scholar Quest activity became more than just a challenge. It was a chance to connect, collaborate, and create memorable moments during this Spirit Week.
