The La Carlota City College (LCCC) ROTC Unit conducted a 3-day Cadet Officer Candidate Course (COCC) which started last 30 January 2026 at Cubay Campus, La Carlota City College, La Carlota City. The COCC intends to cultivate and enhance the nine (9) young and promising applicants all first-year criminal justice students in their sense of leadership, discipline, moral integrity, physical fitness, and sense of patriotism.
During the opening program, PROF. RONIE T. BASA delivered the welcome remarks followed by the presentation of trainees presented by MSgt Arnel Francisco (Res) PA. After the presentation of trainees, the course opening was declared by PFC Shirley S Tolentino (INF) PA.
Day 1 Program of Activities include: Reception Rites, Basic Drills, and Classroom Discussion β Basic Life Support, Drill Terms, Drills and Ceremonies
Day 2 Program of Activities include: Morning Bugle Call (Reveille), Classroom Discussion β
Map Reading, Knot Tying, Night Vision, and Weapons Proficiency
Day 3 Program of Activities include: Morning Bugle Call (Reveille), Drills and Ceremonies, and Closing/Commissioning Program.
The 3 days COCC ended on 1 February 2026. The closing program started with the invocation then singing of Philippine National Anthem. The opening/welcome message was delivered by MAJ CERIACO M DENI-AY (RES) PA. After the opening message, PFC Shirley S Tolentino (INF) PA presented the newly Third Class Officers to get their certificates, then followed by the closing declaration by SSgt Renneil V Advincula (Inf) PA. After the closing declaration of COCC, the reading of orders/commissioning started. SSgt Rolando V Leones announced the ranks and positions of the cadet officers. The outgoing Corps Commander PFC Larry T Salomante Jr PA (RES) and the newly Corps Commander Cdt Col Kevin L Agustin exchanged their messages to each other.
The guest speaker 605th CDC Director COL DON L VILLANUEVA GSC (INF) PA gave his message to the cadet officers and basic cadets, to encourage and inspire them to be a disciplined citizens of the of our nation. The program ended with the singing of Laang Kawal. The program successfully concluded.
