Nutrition Month 2026 | Curriculum Integration
In line with DepEd Memorandum No. 045, s. 2026, Maimbung National High School–Main observed Nutrition Month 2026 through curriculum integration, anchored on this year’s theme, “Sa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat!” and sub-theme, “Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!”
Throughout the month of July, Nutrition Month concepts were incorporated into regular classroom instruction through lessons, discussions, Performance Tasks (PETAs), assessments, and other competency-based learning activities without disrupting instructional time.
Each learning area integrated the Nutrition Month theme into its respective competencies. In Values Education 8, learners presented healthy foods as part of their lesson on Pangangalaga sa Sarili, emphasizing that choosing nutritious food is an important way of caring for oneself.
In Science, TLE, and MAPEH, learners participated in poster-making, slogan-writing, and classroom discussions highlighting food security, proper nutrition, healthy eating habits, and environmental sustainability.
In English and Filipino, learners developed their communication and critical thinking skills through essay writing, interview reports, oral presentations, and other language activities related to healthy lifestyles and proper nutrition.
Meanwhile, in UCSP, learners were tasked to showcase local delicacies to promote appreciation of local culture, indigenous traditions, and locally available food resources.
Other learning areas likewise integrated Nutrition Month concepts through activities aligned with their respective competencies.
During the final week of July (July 23, 2026), classroom outputs produced in the previous weeks were evaluated, and the entries that obtained the highest scores advanced to the school level for final judging and recognition.
Learners also demonstrated their understanding through various classroom-based activities, including fruit displays, healthy food presentations, healthy plating activities, learner presentations, quiz bowls, and essay writing. These activities varied depending on the subject and its intended learning competencies.
