1st Simultaneous National Earthquake Drill Conducted at El Gawel Elementary School

El Gawel Elementary School successfully participated in the 1st Simultaneous National Earthquake Drill held today, June 18, 2026, with the active involvement of learners, teachers, and school personnel. The activity aimed to strengthen disaster preparedness and ensure that everyone is equipped with the proper knowledge and skills to respond effectively during earthquake emergencies.

During the drill, learners demonstrated the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” technique, showing their understanding of the immediate protective actions necessary during seismic events. Following the initial response, they calmly and orderly proceeded to their designated evacuation areas, where they safely assembled within the school grounds.

The drill also provided an opportunity to identify areas for improvement and reinforce safety protocols through guidance and feedback. This process highlights the importance of continuous learning, vigilance, and preparedness.

Indeed, activities like this remind us that preparedness is essential in times of calamity. Through regular drills and active participation, the El Gawel Elementary School community continues to foster a culture of safety, awareness, and resilience.
