Last October 2, 2026, the Consortium of Political Science Students (CPSS) came together for a simple yet meaningful lunch fellowship in celebration of NDMU’s 80th Foundation Anniversary as they share good food, stories, and company.

𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙖 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙉𝘿𝙈𝙐’𝙨 80-𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙘𝙮.

Before the sun fully settles over the campus, there is already a familiar pattern. Waking up, getting dressed, carrying a backpack, rushing through the halls, and finding little moments to breathe in between before attending to every classes. From quiet mornings to hurried walks across the grounds, the life of a Marist student is made up of ordinary moments that slowly become memories. Here, every corner of the campus witnesses another story in the making.

For 80 years, NDMU has been more than classrooms and academic requirements. It has been a place where students learn, grow, struggle, laugh, cry, serve, and many more just to discover who they are becoming. Somewhere in this long story is every marist student’s simple routine: gising, pasok, aral, pagod, tawanan, uwi, and repeat. Because sometimes, the most ordinary days become the memories we carry forever.

Here’s to 80 years of stories, memories, and Marists who continue to carry the name and story forward. Happy 80th Foundation Anniversary, NDMU! 💚

Sa ganap na Setyembre ng taong 1974, sa bayan ng Palimbang sa probinsiya ng Sultan Kudarat, nangyari ang isa sa pinakamabigat na uri ng karahasan sa mga Moro na natataon sa kasagsagan ng Batas Militar. Maraming tahanan ang sinunog. Maraming buhay ang pinaslang.

Ang karahasang dinanas na pinatunayan ng mga dumanak na dugo ay hindi dapat ipagsawalang-bahala. Kapag ang naturang kasakiman ay hindi inuulat dahil sa hindi pagkakaugnay sa iba't ibang relihiyon, pagkakakilanlan, o katayuan sa buhay, ang kasaysayan ng pighati ay hindi mapipigilang maulit muli.

Higit pa sa pagtatala, ang paggunita sa Palimbang Massacre ay hindi lamang upang may balikan, ngunit para maalala ng lahat ang responsabilidad na lumaban para sa karapatang tao.

𝙃𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞 𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙠𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣, 𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩 𝙖𝙮 𝙥𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙖 𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙩𝙖𝙣 𝙧𝙞𝙣.

Noong ika-21 ng Setyembre ng taong 1972, pormal na ipinatupad ng dating pangulong Ferdinand E. Marcos, Sr. ang Batas Militar sa bisa ng Proklamasyon blg. 1081. Sa panahong iyon, hinarap ng bansa ang mga suliraning pampulitika, armadong tunggalian, at kaguluhang panlipunan.

Ang kapangyarihan ng estado ay dapat na pumabor sa karapatang pantao na hindi dapat isantabi. Ang Pilipinas ay isang demokratikong bayan; ang demokrasya ay nangangailangan ng mga mamamayang marunong magtanong, sumuri, at manindigan.

Sa hindi maayos na panunungkulan, maraming mga buhay ang naapektuhan, mga tinig na pinatahimik, mga pamilyang nakompromiso, at mga karapatang nasiil.

Kung kaya'y hindi sapat ang “𝘕𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘢𝘯 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨.”, bagkus ang nakaraan ang siyang daan patungo sa kasalukuyan. Ang kapangyarihan ng lupong namumuno ay
dapat na maiayon sa kanyang pag-ibig para sa bayan, ngunit kung ang hangaring ito'y tutumbas sa pangingitil ng buhay, matatawag pa ba itong pag-ibig o kasuklaman?

​From passive reactions to structured argumentation, the Consortium of Political Science Students (CPSS) continued its Political Science Skills and Workshop Series with Workshop IV: “ARGUE, DON’T JUST REACT: Why Debate Matters in a Philippines Where Everyone Has an Opinion” last September 12, 2026, at the SMC Hall.

​With Ms. Danica Gwen Fagtanan as the resource speaker, the consortium delved into the world of Asian Parliamentary Debate, mastering the dynamics of clash, evidence-based reasoning, and public speaking. The club learned that meaningful debate goes beyond expressing an opinion—it is about sharpening critical thinking, constructing compelling arguments, and elevating discourse above the noise. 🎙️

📰 | Imperium attends CLEP

Last August 15, 2026, Batch Imperium—the 2nd year level Political Science students of Notre Dame of Marbel University—attended the Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP) culmination at the BRC Convention Hall initiated by the NDMU College of Law.

The event showcased the diverse experiences of law students from the college during their CLEP journey. Speakers shared their time at the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), the UNIDROIT Summer School in Shanghai, and the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG). Law student practitioners also presented practical solutions for strengthening the system of Katarungang Pambarangay.

This gathering truly ignited the burning passion within the hearts of the students for the continuous pursuit of justice and humanistic service. They remain deeply grateful to have been part of such an inspiring and meaningful learning experience.
