𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬

The Special Needs Education (SNED) Department of Koronadal National Comprehensive High School (KNCHS) successfully conducted the school-based training seminar entitled “Strengthening Teachers’ Competence in Receiving Students with Special Educational Needs” on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the KNCHS Conference Room. The training aimed to strengthen teachers’ knowledge, skills, and confidence in providing meaningful and inclusive learning experiences for students with special educational needs. It served as an avenue for teachers to deepen their understanding of inclusive education and recognize the important role they play in ensuring that every learner is given appropriate support and opportunities to succeed.

The seminar focused on practical strategies for screening, catering to the needs, and delivering effective lessons to students with special educational needs in an inclusive classroom. Discussions emphasized the importance of identifying learners’ strengths, needs, and areas requiring support through appropriate screening and observation. Teachers were also guided in applying suitable accommodations, modifications, differentiated strategies, classroom management techniques, and learner-centered approaches to make lessons more accessible and responsive. Through the training, teachers were encouraged to foster a classroom environment where diversity is respected and every learner is given the opportunity to participate, learn, and develop according to their abilities.

The SNED Department extends its sincere gratitude to Ma’am Marilyn D. Pama, SNED Coordinator; Sir Sanny P. Pama, Assistant Principal for Operations and Learner Support; Sir Michael G. Panaligan, Assistant Principal for Academics; Ma’am Ma. Fe Lita S. Yparraguirre, Principal; and Sir Antonio V. 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧, 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐛𝐮𝐨 𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐚: 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐠𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐠-𝐚𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐍𝐄𝐃

Lumahok ang mga mag-aaral ng Special Needs Education (SNED) ng Koronadal National Comprehensive High School (KNCHS) sa isang campus tour sa gabay ng kanilang mga g**o sa SNED noong Biyernes, Hunyo 26, 2026. Layunin ng gawaing ito na matulungan ang mga mag-aaral na maging mas pamilyar sa kapaligiran ng paaralan, lalo na sa iba't ibang tanggapan at pasilidad na nagbibigay ng serbisyo at suporta sa mga mag-aaral. Sa pamamagitan ng gawaing ito, nabigyan sila ng pagkakataong tuklasin ang iba’t ibang bahagi ng paaralan at magkaroon ng higit na kumpiyansa sa paggalugad at pagpunta sa mga lugar sa loob ng kampus nang mas malaya.

Sa isinagawang pag-iikot, binisita ng mga mag-aaral ang mahahalagang tanggapan sa loob ng paaralan at natutunan ang kani-kanilang tungkulin at responsibilidad. Matiyagang ipinaliwanag ng mga kinatawan ng bawat opisina ang mga serbisyong kanilang iniaalok at kung paano sila nakatutulong sa pang-araw-araw na operasyon ng paaralan. Naging makabuluhang karanasan ito para sa mga mag-aaral sapagkat mas naunawaan nila kung saan sila maaaring humingi ng tulong at makakuha ng mga kinakailangang serbisyo kapag kinakailangan. Sa patnubay ng kanilang mga g**o, aktibo at masiglang nakilahok ang mga mag-aaral sa buong gawain.

Taos-pusong nagpapasalamat ang Kagawaran ng SNED sa administrasyon ng paaralan, lalo na kay Ma’am Ma. Fe Lita S. Yparraguirre, P-IV, sa pagbibigay ng pahintulot at buong suporta sa mahalagang gawaing ito. Taos-puso rin kaming nagpapasalamat sa mga pinuno at kinatawan ng bawat tanggapan na mainit na tumanggap sa aming mga mag-aaral at matiyagang nagpaliwanag tungkol sa kanilang mga opisina. Lubos din naming pinahahalagahan ang mga magulang na boluntaryong naglaan ng kanilang oras at suporta upang samahan at gabayan ang mga mag-aaral sa buong gawain. Ang kanilang pakikiisa, kabutihan, at dedikasyon, kasama ng suporta ng buong komunidad ng paaralan, ang naging susi upang maging matagumpay at makabuluhan ang campus tour na ito para sa aming mga mag-aaral.

𝐒𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥

On Monday, June 15, 2026, the Special Needs Education (SNED) students of Koronadal National Comprehensive High School actively participated in the earthquake drill conducted by the school. The activity aimed to enhance the learners' awareness and preparedness in responding to earthquake emergencies while ensuring that all students, regardless of their abilities, are equipped with essential disaster response skills.

With the help and guidance of the SNED teachers, the students were oriented on the appropriate actions to take before, during, and after an earthquake. They were taught the importance of staying calm, practicing the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" technique, following designated evacuation routes, and proceeding safely to the assigned evacuation area. The learners actively participated in the drill as teachers and school personnel ensured that every student's needs and safety were addressed throughout the activity.

The activity served as a reminder that earthquakes can happen unexpectedly, making preparedness a shared responsibility. By participating in regular drills and understanding proper safety procedures, everyone can respond more effectively during emergencies. We must always be prepared, remain vigilant, and apply what we have learned to protect ourselves and others when disaster strikes.
