โข Feature Writing (Grade 12) - 10:00โ11:00 AM
Each participant may participate in only one category.

1. The activity is open to all bona fide KNCHS-SHS students for School Year 2026โ2027.
2. Participants shall choose between Editorial Writing and Feature Writing.
3. Grade 12 participants are scheduled to write in the morning and Grade 11 in the afternoon to avoid class disruptions.
4. Submit an online registration form here: https://forms.gle/HAJeSgnH3AJRqQ136 , deadline is on September 28, 2026.
5. Arrive 30 minutes before the contest proper for the checking of attendance.
6. The topic shall be released by the organizers on the activity proper.
7. All entries must be original works written solely by the participant. Plagiarism and submission of another person's work shall result in disqualification.
8. Participants shall bring their own writing materials, including a ballpen and an A4-sized bond paper.
9. The editorial or feature article must be written in English.
10. Participants shall be given one (1) hour to complete their entries.
11. Entries must be submitted immediately after the allotted writing period. Late submissions shall not be accepted.
12. Participants may not receive assistance from other individuals while the writing activity is ongoing.
13. The use of unauthorized reference materials, electronic devices, or other sources during the writing period shall result in disqualification.
14. Failure to comply with the rules and guidelines may result in disqualification.
15. Winners will be announced on October 2, 2026, at the KNCHS AVR or Conference room (wait for further announcements).
16. The decision of the board of judges shall be final and irrevocable.

20% Organization and Clarity โ Coherent structure, logical progression of ideas, effective introduction and conclusion, and concise presentation
15% Language Use and Mechanics โ Grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary, sentence structure, and appropriate editorial tone
B. Feature Writing
35% Content and Accuracy โ Accuracy and relevance of scientific information; depth and completeness of the topic
30% Development and Human Interest โ Engaging presentation, meaningful details, effective storytelling, and ability to connect the topic to readers
20% Organization and Coherence โ Effective lead, logical sequencing of information, transitions, and conclusion
15% Language Use and Mechanics โ Grammar, spelling, punctuation, vocabulary, sentence structure, and appropriate tone
