📚 Learning Difficulties Are Not Always “Just Part of Growing Up.”
“Bakit kaya hirap siya kahit nagsisikap naman?”
For many children, learning difficulties may go unnoticed for years. Some may struggle with reading, writing, math, attention, language, organization, or even the motor demands of school—while being misunderstood as “tamad,” “careless,” “mahina,” or “hindi nakikinig.”
But there may be more behind the struggle. 💙
🔎 This infographic series takes a closer look at:
1️⃣ What learning disorders are and the different types
2️⃣ Signs to watch for across early childhood, elementary, and adulthood
3️⃣ Common academic, emotional, behavioral, and social challenges
4️⃣ Why screening and thorough assessment are important
5️⃣ Evidence-informed intervention approaches and how we can support different learners
Most importantly, struggling does not automatically mean a child has a learning disorder. Similar difficulties can be associated with other factors—including visual or auditory processing difficulties, ADHD, intellectual or developmental differences, emotional factors, or gaps in learning opportunities.
That is why assessment matters. It helps us understand the why behind the difficulty and determine the most appropriate support. 🌱
Early identification is not about labeling a child.
It is about understanding them better.
Let’s move from “Bakit hindi niya kaya?” to “Ano kaya ang kailangan niya para matuto?” 💚
Observe. Listen. Assess. Support.
