The Notre Dame of Marbel University โ€“ Gender and Human Development (GaHD) Office successfully conducted the Basic Gender Awareness Seminar โ€“ Phase 2, followed by the meaningful Ritual of Acceptance and Commitment, on August 13, 2026, at the GaHD Office.

The second phase further strengthened the GaHD Advocatesโ€™ understanding of Gender and Development (GAD) and deepened their commitment to promoting gender equality, inclusivity, respect, and safe spaces within the university and the wider community.

๐Ÿ’œ Ritual of Acceptance and Commitment

The activity culminated in the Ritual of Acceptance and Commitment, formally welcoming the GaHD Advocates and symbolizing their pledge to uphold equality, inclusion, respect, human dignity, and positive social transformation.

Together, we move forward as GaHD Advocates committed to building a safe, respectful, inclusive, and gender-responsive community. ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

The seminar provided GaHD Advocates with foundational knowledge on Gender and Development (GAD), gender equality, diversity, inclusivity, respect, and the importance of creating safe and gender-responsive spaces within the university community.

This first phase marked an important step in equipping our advocates with the knowledge and awareness needed to become effective champions of equality, respect, and inclusion. ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’œ

Ngayong araw, Agosto 14, ating ginugunita ang paglagda sa makasaysayang Republic Act No. 9710 o ang Magna Carta of Women. Ang batas na ito ang komprehensibong batas sa ating bansa na kumikilala, nagtatanggol, at nagtataguyod ng mga karapatan ng kababaihan.

Ito rin ang lokal na pagsasabatas ng mga probisyon ng Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), partikular sa pagbibigay-kahulugan sa gender discrimination, state obligations, substantive equality, at temporary special measures.

Maging ang paggamit ng salitang โ€œofโ€ sa pangalan nito ay kinikilala ang women's participation and ownership of the bill.

Labing-pitong taon ng pagsusulong ng karapatang pantao ng bawat kababaihang Pilipino. Sama-sama tayo para sa mas maunlad, mas ligtas, mas malaya, at mas inklusibong Pilipinas. ๐Ÿ’œ

Phase 2 will further strengthen the knowledge and understanding gained from the first session, preparing GaHD Advocates to become more effective advocates for gender equality, inclusivity, and safe spaces.

This meaningful ceremony formally welcomes our GaHD Advocates and serves as a symbolic pledge to uphold the values of equality, inclusion, respect, and human dignity. Together, we reaffirm our commitment to becoming advocates for positive change in the university and our communities.

๐Ÿ“Œ Attendance is required for all GaHD Advocates.

Kindly arrive 10โ€“15 minutes before the scheduled start of each activity for attendance and registration.

Your participation is essential as we continue to build a community that celebrates diversity, promotes mutual respect, and empowers everyone to become agents of positive social transformation.

๐ŸŽ‰ GaHD 1st General Assembly 2026 ๐Ÿ’œ

A new academic year begins with a renewed commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive university community.

The Gender and Human Development (GaHD) Office successfully conducted its 1st General Assembly, bringing together student leaders, advocates, and volunteers to strengthen our shared mission of promoting gender equality, respect, diversity, and empowerment.

The assembly also highlighted GaHD's three core clubs CHADA, KABAY, and SOFIA-ARISE which continue to champion inclusion, leadership, and advocacy within the Notre Dame of Marbel University community. Together, these organizations embody GaHD's vision of creating meaningful opportunities for every student to participate, lead, and make a positive impact.

Together, let us continue creating spaces where every voice is heard, every identity is respected, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

The NDMU Guidance and Testing Center and the Gender and Human Development (GaHD) Center successfully conducted its orientation for incoming first-year students of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and College of Education (CED) on July 23, 2026, at the NDMU SMC Hall.

The orientation introduced students to the GaHD Center's programs, services, and student organizations while promoting gender equality, inclusivity, safe spaces, and holistic student development. Through this initiative, freshmen were encouraged to become active members of the NDMU community and advocates for respect, diversity, and positive change.
