The Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU) community celebrated the Season of Creation last Friday, September 4, at the NDMU Gymnasium, with the theme “Immersion in Living Water: Nurturing Wholeness, Inclusion, and Hope.” The celebration served as a meaningful reminder of our shared responsibility to nurture life, uphold dignity, foster inclusion, and care for our common home.

As part of the celebration, Ms. Pacita Dechavez Fortin,RSW,MA of Miriam College, Loyola Heights , Quezon City shared an insightful reflection on the theme through the lens of Gender Intersectionality, highlighting how different aspects of our identities and lived experiences intersect and shape the realities we face. Her discussion emphasized the importance of building a community where every person is seen, respected, valued, and given the opportunity to flourish. The celebration also underscored that caring for Creation goes beyond environmental concerns. It encompasses the mental, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of every member of the community. Mr. John Arlo M. Codilla, RN,MMHeA discussed about HIV/ STI and Ms. Dianne Marie E. Quintero,MA,RPm,RPsy,RPh shared about Mental Health.

Like living water that refreshes and sustains life, compassion, empathy, justice, and inclusion can help create spaces where no one is left behind. The event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Gender and Human Development, Center for Peace and Environment, Guidance and Testing Center, Clinic, and Campus Ministry Office. Their collective efforts embody the spirit of the celebration, demonstrating that nurturing wholeness, inclusion, peace, and hope is a shared responsibility.

As NDMU continues its journey through the Season of Creation, may the community remain immersed in the Living Water, continually refreshing one another through compassion, standing together for justice and inclusion, promoting peace, and caring for all of Creation. May this Season of Creation be a season of wholeness, inclusion, peace, and hope for all.

This Season of Creation, the Marist Community gathers under the theme “𝑰𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑾𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓: 𝑵𝒖𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑾𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔, 𝑰𝒏𝒄𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑯𝒐𝒑𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚.”

Inspired by the image of living water in Ezekiel 47:9, 12, we are reminded that water brings life, healing, and renewal. In the same way, we are called to become sources of compassion, acceptance, and hope—creating a community where everyone is 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘥, 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘥, 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥.

Our celebration invites us to recognize the deep connection between 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳, embracing human dignity, mental wellness, inclusion, sexual health awareness, and our responsibility to protect the sacredness of nature.

Ngayong araw, Agosto 14, ating ginugunita ang paglagda sa makasaysayang Republic Act No. 9710 o ang Magna Carta of Women. Ang batas na ito ang komprehensibong batas sa ating bansa na kumikilala, nagtatanggol, at nagtataguyod ng mga karapatan ng kababaihan.

Ito rin ang lokal na pagsasabatas ng mga probisyon ng Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), partikular sa pagbibigay-kahulugan sa gender discrimination, state obligations, substantive equality, at temporary special measures.

Maging ang paggamit ng salitang “of” sa pangalan nito ay kinikilala ang women's participation and ownership of the bill.

Labing-pitong taon ng pagsusulong ng karapatang pantao ng bawat kababaihang Pilipino. Sama-sama tayo para sa mas maunlad, mas ligtas, mas malaya, at mas inklusibong Pilipinas. 💜

Kindly arrive 10–15 minutes before the scheduled start of each activity for attendance and registration.

🎉 GaHD 1st General Assembly 2026 💜

A new academic year begins with a renewed commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive university community.

The Gender and Human Development (GaHD) Office successfully conducted its 1st General Assembly, bringing together student leaders, advocates, and volunteers to strengthen our shared mission of promoting gender equality, respect, diversity, and empowerment.

The assembly also highlighted GaHD's three core clubs CHADA, KABAY, and SOFIA-ARISE which continue to champion inclusion, leadership, and advocacy within the Notre Dame of Marbel University community. Together, these organizations embody GaHD's vision of creating meaningful opportunities for every student to participate, lead, and make a positive impact.

Together, let us continue creating spaces where every voice is heard, every identity is respected, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
