Expanding the government’s voucher system is a strategic solution to the declining enrollment in private schools. By increasing financial assistance to learners, the government ensures that quality education in private institutions becomes more affordable and accessible, particularly for low- and middle-income families. This move not only relieves overcrowding in public schools but also sustains private schools that have been struggling to maintain operations, retain qualified teachers, and improve facilities due to reduced enrollment. Strengthening the voucher program upholds the principle of public-private complementarity, allowing both sectors to collaboratively deliver accessible, quality education for all. Ultimately, an expanded voucher system empowers parental choice, promotes equity, and safeguards the stability of the entire Philippine educational system.

Makiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Pambansang Buwan ng mga Katutubo ngayong Oktubre!

Ang Kagawaran ng Edukasyon ay kaisa ng buong bansa sa pagdiriwang ng Pambansang Buwan ng mga Katutubo sa bisa ng Presidential Proclamation 1906 s. 2009 na layong gunitain ang pagsasabatas ng Republic Act 8371 o ang The Indigenous Peoples Rights Act noong Oktubre 29, 1997.

May temang, “Kasaysayan, Karunungan, at Wika ng mga Katutubong Pamayanan: Mga Saligan ng Katutubong Pagkakakilanlan at Tulay Tungo sa Inklusibong Kaunlaran,” nais bigyang-diin ng Kagawaran ang patuloy na pakikiisa at suporta sa mga Katutubong Pamayanan sa pamamagitan ng Indigenous Peoples Education Program na nasa ikalawang dekada na ngayong 2022.
