IHMA PILLAR HEADS MEET WITH SCHOOL DIRECTOR FOR AUGUST–SEPTEMBER PLANS

The different pillar heads of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy (IHMA) met with School Director Rev. Fr. Mart James C. Presillas on Thursday, August 20,2026 to discuss school reports, upcoming activities, financial updates, and other important concerns. Present during the meeting were OIC Christian Mahinay, SHS Coordinator Naneth Cubarol, JHS Coordinator Crisna Mangadlao, Campus Ministry Coordinator Christopher Llamera, Socio-Cultural Coordinator Arnulfo Jr. Butona, Ad-Extra and Community Extension Coordinator Arnulfo Mondia, and School Cashier Dahlia Clerino.

The meeting focused on the coordination of Campus Pillar Reports and the different activities lined up for August and September. Financial reports and updates were also discussed to ensure proper planning and coordination among the different offices and school pillars.

A major part of the discussion was the upcoming participation of the IHMA Drum and Lyre Corps in the Surigao City Drum and Lyre Corps (DLC) Competition on September 7, 2026. The school leaders discussed preparations, coordination, and other requirements to support the students and coaches as they represent IHMA in the competition.

The meeting also served as an opportunity for the school leaders to share updates, address concerns, and align their plans for the coming activities. Through continued coordination and teamwork, the different school pillars aim to ensure the smooth implementation of IHMA’s programs and activities in the coming months.

𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧: Following the end of the effectivity period of LGU Memorandum Order No. 08-17 S. 2026, the school will RESUME face-to-face classes tomorrow, August 19, 2026, while continuing to observe necessary safety measures due to the expected high heat index. The school will implement a half-day class setup from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN. In the afternoon, Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) will be implemented as the high heat index is expected to continue.

As we go back to the campus, all are reminded to stay hydrated, bring enough drinking water, wear light and comfortable clothing, and avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight. Learners are encouraged to take necessary breaks and immediately inform their teachers or school personnel if they feel dizzy, weak, or uncomfortable due to the heat. Everyone is reminded to follow the school's safety guidelines and advisories as we work together to ensure a safe, healthy, and smooth return to face-to-face classes.

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗫? 🌡️🥵

: As temperatures rise, it is important to understand the Heat Index and the risks it brings to our health. According to DOST-PAGASA, the Heat Index shows how hot the weather feels to the human body by considering the combined effects of temperature and humidity. PAGASA uses a four-level classification to help the public understand the possible health effects of increasing heat.

To all IHManians, let this serve as a reminder to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the heat, take regular breaks, and stay in cool or shaded places whenever possible.

The Philippines continues to experience hot and humid weather, with parts of the Visayas and Mindanao experiencing heat index levels reaching 40°C or higher. With these dangerous heat levels being felt in several areas, everyone is reminded to take extra care and avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat.

To all IHManians, let’s stay cool, hydrated, alert, and safe!
Drink water regularly, stay in cool or shaded places, protect yourself from the sun, and limit strenuous outdoor activities. Most importantly, listen to your body. If you feel dizzy, weak, nauseous, or unusually tired, stop what you are doing, rest in a cool place, and inform an adult immediately.

Directing all public elementary and secondary schools within the Municipality of Kitcharao to shift to Modular Distance Learning/Blended Learning 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, due to the reported higher heat index in the Local Government Unit of Kitcharao.

However, 𝗶𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘅 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀, 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲-𝘁𝗼-𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲, subject to the assessment and official announcement of the Local Government Unit and concerned school authorities.
