2026 Regional Search for the Most Functional School Libraries(Sustaining Category)
On September 22, 2026.at 3:00 PM, Sibug Memorial Elementary School warmly welcomed the members of the Regional Validation Team and distinguished guests during the 2026 Regional Search for the Most Functional School Libraries. The activity served as a significant milestone for the school, providing an opportunity to showcase not only the functionality and resources of its library but also the collective efforts of the school community in fostering a culture of reading, learning, and lifelong discovery.
The activity commenced with a meaningful and vibrant Indigenous Peoples (IP) dance presentation, performed by the pupils and teachers of Sibug Memorial Elementary School. The presentation served as a heartfelt expression of welcome and respect to the visiting validators, namely, Sir Arturo Tingson Regional LR Supervisor, Sir Roy Felmar Adam, Sir Jhonny Maniago. More than a cultural presentation, it reflected the school's appreciation of its heritage and its commitment to celebrating diversity and inclusivity within the school community.
The event was graced by important representatives and stakeholders, including BLGU Education Committee Chairwoman Laureana Guinang, SPTA President Redin R. Carigay, and SELG President Rhian Faye Ramos, whose presence demonstrated the strong partnership and support of the community in advancing the school's educational programs and initiatives.
The formal program then proceeded, bringing together school personnel, parents, stakeholders, and members of the validation team. Throughout the activity, the school presented its library programs, practices, resources, facilities, and initiatives that contribute to creating a functional and learner-centered library environment. The occasion highlighted the dedication of the teachers and school personnel, who continuously work to make the library more than a place where books are kept, but a space where curiosity is awakened, knowledge is shared, and learners are encouraged to discover beyond the pages.
The validation proper followed, during which the Regional Validators carefully assessed the different aspects of the school's library based on the prescribed criteria. The process provided the school with an opportunity to demonstrate the systems and practices it has developed while also reflecting on areas that may still be strengthened.
Following the validation, a post-validation conference and feedbacking session was conducted. The validators shared their observations, insights, and recommendations, providing valuable perspectives that can guide the school in sustaining its strengths and improving its library services. The feedbacking session emphasized that validation is not merely a measure of what has already been accomplished; it is also an avenue for reflection, growth, and continuous improvement.
The activity concluded with a renewed sense of appreciation and purpose among the members of the Sibug Memorial Elementary School community, with the leadership of the school principal, Mam Leah Rose E. Jimenez together with the schools library in-charge and focal person, Mam Rowena S. Zamora and co-coordinator, Mam Rogie Mae Parillo. The Regional Search became more than an assessment of facilities and programs; it became a reflection of the collective commitment of teachers, learners, parents, school leaders, and stakeholders to building a library that truly serves its learners.
Through the continued cooperation of the entire school community, Sibug Memorial Elementary School remains committed to nurturing a library where every learner can read, explore, imagine, and grow.
