University of Southern Mindanao–Kidapawan City Campus (USM-KCC) Crickets emerged as the undisputed overall champion of Kaliline Festival 2025, as announced today, May 9, at the University Auditorium.

The Crickets soared to the top after dethroning the defending champions, College of Education (CED) Chameleons, bouncing back from the end of their five-year winning streak.

The University of Southern Mindanao - Kidapawan City Campus (USM-KCC) celebrated academic excellence at its 24th Recognition and Gawad Parangal on April 29, 2025. With the theme “𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗳𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁,” the event recognized over 600 students for their achievements in academics, culture, arts, sports, and research. Scholars from the second semester of SY 2023-2024 and the first semester of SY 2024-2025 were honored, highlighting USM-KCC’s ongoing commitment to academic and research excellence.

The celebration was spearheaded by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐅. 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐲, 𝐔𝐒𝐌-𝐊𝐂𝐂 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐫, whose leadership and dedication were instrumental in the success of the event. The program’s success was also made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Management Council, faculty, staff, and students, reflecting the strong sense of unity and shared purpose within the campus community.

The 24th Recognition and Gawad Parangal was made even more meaningful by the presence of this year’s 𝐆𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐝 𝐋. 𝐏𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥, the 8th President of the University of Southern Mindanao. [𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗢𝗗𝗔𝗬] A Warm Welcome for USM’s 8th President

Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, the newly appointed 8th President of the University of Southern Mindanao, made his first visit to USM–KCC today. He was warmly received by the USM–KCC academic community upon his arrival on campus.

To honor his visit, the ROTC, alongside the marching band, led the Arrival Honors ceremony. Dr. Ronielyn F. Pinsoy, Chancellor of USM–KCC, personally welcomed Dr. Pimentel as he stepped onto the campus for the first time as President.

Following the ceremony, a simple yet heartfelt welcome program was held at the covered court, organized by the administration, faculty, staff, and students. In her message, Dr. Pinsoy congratulated and welcomed Dr. Pimentel, emphasizing how his presence has inspired the USM–KCC community. She expressed the collective eagerness to work alongside him in advancing the university’s vision and mission, ensuring that students receive the best education and opportunities.

In his speech, Dr. Pimentel expressed deep gratitude for the warm welcome. He shared insights into his journey, highlighting the values of hard work and excellence in achieving a quality life. Reaffirming his commitment to the institution, he assured the faculty and students of his full support in elevating USM–KCC’s standards. He also encouraged students to give their best in their academic pursuits.

As he concluded his speech, he left the community with his inspiring motto: “Work hard without stress.” A reminder for everyone to strive for excellence while maintaining their well-being.

USM – KCC's 25th Integration Anniversary

The University of Southern Mindanao – Kidapawan City Campus (USM-KCC) proudly celebrated its 25th Integration Anniversary on January 31, 2025 with the theme “USM-KCC @25: Championing Innovations, Fostering Collaborations, and Upholding Academic Excellence” at the campus covered court.

The historical celebration was graced by Dr. Rody P. Garcia, the Director of Commission on Higher Education Regional Office (CHEDRO) XII and the OIC-President of University of Southern Mindanao (USM), who served as this year’s guest of honor and speaker.

A significant part of the program was the recognition of key figures instrumental in USM-KCC’s integration and partner industries that have contributed to the campus’s growth. The event also honored two outstanding alumni for their remarkable contributions in their respective fields. Mr. Arturo L. Jimenez, Jr., Principal II at Manongol National High School, was awarded Outstanding Alumni for Education for his effective leadership in managing school operations and resources. Engr. Jesseree Monique G. Patal, President and CEO of JMP Dragon Builders, Inc. and Edgedev Construction & Trading, Inc., received the Outstanding Alumni for Entrepreneurship award for her success in business ventures and community development.

The event brought together faculty, students, alumni, and distinguished guests to honor the institution’s rich legacy and commitment to academic excellence and community development, serving as a powerful reminder that the legacy built over the past 25 years will continue to shine in the years ahead.

The University of Southern Mindanao – Kidapawan City Campus proudly announces the successful ISO 9001:2015 recertification conducted on January 16-17, 2025, by TÜV Rheinland Philippines, Inc.

The audit team commended USM-KCC, affirming:
"USM - KCC has established and maintains an effective system to ensure compliance with policy and objectives. The audit team confirms in line with the audit targets that the organization' management system complies with, adequately maintains and implements the requirements of ISO 9001:2015."

The University of Southern Mindanao strongly condemns the brutal killing of Engr. Shiela R. Bautista, a dedicated faculty member of USM-Kidapawan City Campus, who was senselessly gunned down on December 30, 2024.

Engr. Bautista’s tragic death is a profound loss to her family, the USM community, and the countless students whose lives she touched.

We demand swift action from law enforcement to bring those responsible to justice. This heinous act of violence has no place in our society.

As we grieve, let us honor Engr. Bautista’s memory by rejecting violence and standing united for peace and justice.

Ang Kapaskuhan ay panahon ng pasasalamat at pagbabalik-tanaw sa mga biyayang ating natanggap. Sa taong ito, habang papalapit ang pagtatapos ng aking termino bilang Pangulo ng University of Southern Mindanao at ang aking nalalapit na pagreretiro, nais kong ipahayag ang aking taos-pusong pasasalamat sa lahat ng naging bahagi ng aking paglalakbay bilang inyong lingkod.

Ang mga tagumpay ng ating pamantasan ay hindi magiging posible kung wala ang inyong dedikasyon, suporta, at pagmamahal sa ating misyon. Mula sa mga g**o, kawani, mag-aaral, at mga katuwang sa komunidad, kayo ang naging inspirasyon ng ating mga nagawa at naabot. Sa inyo, ako ay lubos na nagpapasalamat.

As we celebrate this season, I am reminded of the words from the classic Christmas song, “O Holy Night”: “A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.” May this holiday season fill your hearts with the hope, joy, and peace that come with new beginnings.

The University of Southern Mindanao - Kidapawan City Campus (USM-KCC) held its Thanksgiving Celebration for the year 2024 on December 20 at the Mini Convention Hall, bringing together faculty and staff for a day of gratitude and camaraderie.

The event began with lively games hosted by Prof. Allen Pineda and the Admissions and Records Office. Participants were grouped by colors, adding excitement and a competitive spirit to the activities.

The festivities reached their peak as the Red Team claimed victory in both the Dance and Christmas Carol contests, showcasing their creativity and energy.

Chancellor Ronielyn F. Pinsoy, together with the Management Council, led the distribution of grocery packs and gratuity pay to Job Order and Contract of Service employees, spreading joy and appreciation for their dedication.

The celebration concluded on a heartfelt note as Chancellor Pinsoy distributed gifts to all attendees, leaving everyone with grateful hearts and a renewed sense of unity for the year ahead.

[𝑳𝑶𝑶𝑲] The USM-KCC ROTC Unit, under the helm of the NSTP Director, Dr. Jeanne Y. Aure, conducted the annual Presentation of Sponsors (POS) in honor of the guest speaker, USM President Francisco Gil N. Garcia. The event highlighted the pivotal role of women in the military service, being a strong support system for future leaders of the armed forces. In his speech, Dr. Garcia emphasized the importance of the students' readiness for Industry 4.0, stressing the need for the ROTC to continuously evolve to a more dynamic and adaptive unit in order to cope with the ever-changing world. He also recognized the contribution of the ROTC to nation-building through instilling discipline and determination among the students. This activity signifies USM-KCC's commitment to fulfilling its shared vision with the country to develop patriotic and disciplined youth through service and nationalism.
