On April 23, 2026, the BSN-3 and BSN-4 Student Nurses of Notre Dame of Kidapawan College successfully concluded their Community Organizing Participatory Action Research (COPAR) program with the theme, โLIHOK KOMUNIDAD: PANAGHIUSA SA KATAWHAN, MAAYONG PANGLAWAS ATONG PRAYORIDAD.โ
In collaboration with the Community Extension Services (CES), the Philippine Nursing Studentsโ Association (PNSA), and the Kidapawan City Health Office, the program was conducted to address three identified community health concerns: hypertension, lack of food storage facilities, and inadequate drainage systems. Through a series of health education sessions, community-based activities, and collaborative interventions, the student nurses worked alongside residents to promote awareness and encourage sustainable solutions to these pressing issues.
More than implementing activities, the initiative empowered community members with knowledge and practical skills that can help improve their health, safety, and overall quality of life. The program highlighted the importance of active community participation and demonstrated how collective efforts can create meaningful and lasting change.
Together, the BSN-3 and BSN-4 Student Nurses continue to embody the values of service, compassion, and excellence as they strive to make a positive impact beyond the walls of the classroom and into the communities they serve.
A heartfelt thank you to our resource persons for their invaluable knowledge and expertise:
