𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐦 (𝐋𝐒𝐂) successfully held its first 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 for A.Y. 2026–2027 on 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏 at 𝟏𝟐:𝟎𝟎 𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐧, bringing together Psychology students from all year levels.

Led by The Paradigm Governor 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐅𝐚𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚 and organized by The Paradigm Officers, the meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠-𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝟔. Key discussions covered the lineup of events and competitions, attendance guidelines, and the budget and fees for the activities.

The meeting ensured that Psychology students are well-informed and aware as the department prepares for one of the academic year's most anticipated events.

𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟕 is PTSD Awareness Day—a time to raise awareness, encourage understanding, and stand in solidarity with those living with the lasting effects of trauma. PTSD is more than what people often see. It can appear through flashbacks, overwhelming anxiety, emotional numbness, difficulty trusting others, or constantly feeling on edge. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧’𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲.

Understanding PTSD symptoms is an important step towards healing. When we recognize what we are experiencing and why, we begin to reclaim control over our lives with self-compassion instead of self-blame. This month, let’s continue fostering conversations that replace stigma with empathy, remind survivors that they are not alone, and create spaces where healing, support, and hope can thrive.

On the evening of 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟒, the 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐫. 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐬. 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 celebrated the beauty, talent, and intelligence of the new students of North Valley College. First year candidates proudly represented their respective departments, confidently taking the stage and showcasing not only their charm and poise but also their unique skills and wit.

The event was made even more impactful by the enthusiastic presence of their fellow students, who filled the Activity Hub with loud cheers and relentless support for their representatives.

More than just a competition, the Search for Mr. and Ms. Freshman 2026 highlighted the confidence, camaraderie, and the developing NVCian spirit of the newest members of the institution, marking it as a truly memorable evening.

On June 24, the Psychology Department conducted a series of engaging departmental activities designed to welcome psychology freshmen as they begin their college journey.

The event featured a 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤-𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 that provided students with access to fictional books that they can read for fun, a 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 session that added a fun and interactive element to the day, and 𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 that encouraged participation and teamwork.

Through these activities, freshmen had the opportunity to meet their fellow students, interact with upperclassmen, and build meaningful connections within the department. More than just a day of entertainment, this event promoted a sense of belonging and friendship, helping students create bonds that will support them throughout their academic and personal growth in college.
