✨OBEDUCATION: How early can you take a pregnancy test? ✨
Too early = possible false negative.
Timing matters, mga mamsh! 😉
Watch until the end to know when is the best time to test—especially if you’re waiting for those two lines. ✨

✨ Doc Joie Moments | When Heavy Menstrual Bleeding Is More Than Just a Heavy Period
Another OR day with the team.🥰
Our patient is 49 years old and has been suffering from heavy menstrual bleeding secondary to multiple uterine myomas (fibroids).
Many women tend to normalize heavy periods—“Ganito naman talaga regla ko, Doc.” But when bleeding becomes excessive, prolonged, or starts affecting your daily life, hindi na ito dapat balewalain.
Uterine myomas are benign growths of the uterus, but depending on their size, number, and location, they may cause:
✔️Heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding
✔️Anemia
✔️Pelvic pain or pressure
✔️Abdominal enlargement or bloating
✔️Urinary frequency or bowel symptoms in some women
For some patients, medications or less invasive treatments may be appropriate. But when symptoms are significant and childbearing is already complete, hysterectomy may be considered as definitive treatment after proper evaluation and counseling.
For this patient, after discussing her options, risks, and benefits, we proceeded with Total Abdominal Hysterectomy with Bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy (TAHBSO).
📍Take-home message, mga mamsh:
Heavy menstrual bleeding is common, but that doesn’t mean you simply have to live with it. ❤️
If your periods are becoming unusually heavy, prolonged, or are already interfering with your daily activities, have yourself evaluated by your OB-GYN.
Sometimes, your “heavy period” is your body telling you that something needs attention.
Another case done. Thankful for a safe surgery and, as always, grateful for a dependable OR team. 🙏🏻

✨ Doc Joie Moments ✨
15 years later… may baby sister na si Kuya.
Today’s Congenital Anomaly Scan was extra special.
Mommy is G4P1, with two previous pregnancy losses and a 15-year gap since her last successful pregnancy. Kaya every reassuring scan, every tiny movement, and every glimpse of this little one means so much. 🥰
And today, Kuya came along for the scan—si Daddy kasi busy working overseas. 🥰
Seeing how happy and excited Kuya was while watching his baby sister on the screen, and hearing that she is growing well, healthy, and already looking so pretty, made the moment even sweeter. 🥹
These are the moments I love sharing with my patients—the relief on Mommy’s face, the excitement of the family, and today, a very proud Kuya who simply couldn’t hide his happiness. ❤️
After everything Mommy has been through, seeing this little one doing well makes every reassuring scan even more precious. 🙏🏻
See you again soon, pretty baby girl. Keep growing well! 👶🏻🎀
