KIDAPAWAN CITY – In a transformative initiative that brings hope and accessible legal assistance directly to Cotabato communities, the University of Southern Mindanao , College of Law proudly partnered with the Provincial Government of Cotabato for the historic 6th Enhanced Justice on Wheels – Cotabato Legal Access Program (EJOW-CLAP).

Held on November 21, 2025, under the visionary leadership of Governor Emmylou "Lala" Taliño-Mendoza, MNSA, the Provincial Capitol Compound in Amas, Kidapawan City, became a powerful symbol of accessible justice for all. Governor Mendoza’s steadfast commitment to removing barriers to legal services once again affirms that true good governance means meeting people where they are bringing justice to their communities rather than requiring them to travel far to obtain it.

This year’s resonant theme, “Strengthening Access to Justice Through Coordinated Community Services,” reflects Governor Mendoza’s progressive vision of a justice system that is responsive, inclusive, and compassionate. Through her unwavering dedication, she continues to champion programs that transform legal access from a privilege into a fundamental right for all Cotabateños, regardless of distance or circumstance.

The landmark event gathered major justice sector stakeholders and culminated in a meaningful dialogue among stakeholders of the justice sector. The USM College of Law, led by its Dean and supported by the distinguished faculty and the dynamic College of Law Student Government, proudly represented the academic community and the next generation of legal professionals.

A particularly memorable moment emerged when a USM law student posed a thoughtful question that received a comprehensive response from Atty. Allan G. Panolong, Chairperson, Board of Governors and President of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. This inspiring exchange captured the collaborative spirit nurtured by Governor Mendoza where future lawyers learn directly from national leaders, and where education, legal practice, and public service converge to create meaningful, lasting change.

These powerful encounters reaffirm our belief that justice thrives when visionary leaders like Governor Mendoza foster spaces where stakeholders, educators, students, and communities come together with openness, humility, and shared purpose.

This September, the USM College of Law, in partnership with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – North Cotabato Chapter, proudly stands with the nation in commemorating Law Month 2025, a meaningful reminder that the Rule of Law is the very cornerstone of justice and democracy.

The celebration will begin on September 15, 2025, with a parade at 7:30 AM starting from the Hall of Justice in Kidapawan City and culminating at the Amas Provincial Capitol. This symbolic march reflects the unity of the legal community in upholding fairness, accountability, and dedicated public service.

Through this observance, the USM College of Law reaffirms its commitment to shaping future lawyers who are not only excellent in the practice of law, but also compassionate leaders devoted to serving society with honor and integrity.

As we mark Law Month 2025, may we be reminded that the law is more than statutes and systems, it is a living principle that protects rights, strengthens democracy, and upholds equality for all.
