The Municipality of Kawit- Kawit Tourism Office will open an exhibit titled, “682 Across Biak na Bato” on March 20, 2023, 8:00 AM at Kawit Municipal Hall, In Celebration of 154th Birth Anniversary of Pres. Emilio Aguinaldo.
Featuring the journey of Filipino revolutionaries in 1897 from the foothills of Sierra Madre to Victoria Harbor in Hongkong and the events that will culminate in the proclamation of Philippine Independence in 1898. This traveling exhibit has been brought to various NHCP museums in Laguna, Cavite, and Batangas provinces.

The Municipality of Kawit and the NHCP Museo ni Emilio Aguinaldo will open the exhibit titled “Pagpapanday ng Kasarinlan: Kawit as the Cradle of Independence”, tomorrow 29 March 2023 at the GF of the Museo ni Emilio Aguinaldo in Kawit, Cavite. Join us as we look back at the history of Kawit through its built heritage and monuments as it shaped the collective narrative of this historic town.
This year, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), will be celebrating the 125th anniversary of Philippine Independence on 12 June 2023. To mark the event, the agency will launch a 100-day countdown on 4 March, at the Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite.
The kick-off will start at 5pm with messages from NHCP Chairman Dr. Emmanuel F. Calairo, Mayor Angelo Emilio Aguinaldo of Kawit and guest of honor, Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman of the Department of Budget and Management. A parade of flags representing LGUs and other national agencies, including musical numbers from Banda Kawayan, Banda Matanda, Imusicappela and Bughaw Folkloric Group are part of the program
Samu’t Saring Iisa, written and composed by Kent Charcos is the theme song for the 125th anniversary of Philippine Independence. The song will be performed by local artists Nyoy Volante, Mikkie Bradford-Volante, Lara Maigue and Gian Magdangal, with a fireworks display to end the night.
Preceding the launch will be a press conference at 4pm within museum grounds.
The NHCP is the national agency mandated to promote and preserve Philippine historical heritage through research and publication, conservation, heraldry and administration of historic sites and structures.
