To our families,
If you drove past the center this morning, you might have noticed something different. We changed the sign last night.
SAM Kawit, Cavite is now Smarter Minds Learning Center, Kawit, Cavite.
A few of you spotted it on the school run and messaged us, so we wanted to explain properly rather than in bits at pickup.
First, we want to thank the SAM franchise. Our years with them gave us our footing as a center. The training we went through and the Singapore Math foundation we learned there still shape how we teach your kids every day, and we'll always be grateful for that.
Here's why we made the change. The curriculum we were running works best when a student practices daily, and honestly, that's a tall order for most of your households. Between school, activities, and the trip home, a lot of our students were moving on before a topic really settled. They'd get the idea in class, then not touch it again for days, and the mastery we aimed for kept slipping out of reach. It was never about ability. The pace just didn't match their lives.
And this wasn't something we decided on our own. We talked it through with you first, asked what was and wasn't working at home, and listened. Many of you told us the same thing we were seeing, that your child was doing their best but the schedule worked against them. You've been part of this conversation from the start, and we thank you for being honest with us and backing the decision.
So we built something that fits your kids better. As Smarter Minds, we design the curriculum around each student. Same Singapore Math thinking, same standards we've always held, but paced so your child can stay with a topic until it's truly theirs before moving on.
Everything else stays as it is. Same location, same teachers who know your child by name, same people you've trusted all these years. What's different is the name on the sign, and the freedom to teach in the way we know works for them.
One small thing to expect. The sign is up, but the rest will follow in its own time, so you may still come across the old name here and there over the next few weeks. We're a small, family run center doing this one step at a time, and we'd rather put our money into your kids' learning than replace it all overnight. Thank you for your patience while we sort it.
