GOODBYE, QUARTERLY GRADING PERIODS!

Starting School Year 2026โ€“2027, DepEd will implement the Three-Term School Calendar in basic education under DepEd Order No. 009, s. 2026. This means the school year will move from the usual four-quarter setup to three academic terms.

Each term will be organized into learning blocks:

the Opening Block,
Instructional Block,
and End-of-Term Block.

The Opening Block covers orientation, class organization, learner profiling, pre-assessment, gathering of school requirements, and other school preparation activities.

The Instructional Block serves as the main teaching and learning period, where lessons, competencies, performance tasks, summative assessments, and term examinations are conducted.

The End-of-Term Block is allotted for grade computation, academic intervention, recognition activities, PTA meetings, teacher professional development, co-curricular and extracurricular activities, and wellness breaks for learners and teachers.

The Three-Term School Calendar aims to provide longer and more focused learning periods, reduce frequent class interruptions, and give schools dedicated time for assessment, remediation, and recovery.

The new calendar will be implemented in all public schools nationwide starting School Year 2026โ€“2027. Private schools may adopt the same structure, provided they comply with the required number of school days and existing DepEd policies.

LOOK!

On February 19, 2026, Taguitic Integrated School successfully held its 3rd Research Colloquium at the Bangus Conference Hall with the theme, โ€œFor the Learners and for the Community: Advancing Knowledge through Research.โ€

Twelve impressive studies: six quantitative, four qualitative, and two mixed-methods, were confidently presented by our young researchers, followed by an engaging poster presentation that showcased their creativity, clarity, and depth of understanding. Truly, our learners proved that research is not something to fear, but a powerful tool to create impact.

We were deeply honored by the presence of Gladys Nalugon Villacorta, our inspiring resource speaker and panelist, soon to be conferred with a PhD at Philippine Normal University. She reminded us that knowledge must be grounded in validity, authenticity, and integrity especially in the responsible use of AI. Her journey inspires our learners to dream bigger and aim higher.

Our sincere and heartfelt gratitude goes to Sir Joselito Epe, District Supervisor; Maโ€™am Jesily Amor Bontilao, School Principal; and Maโ€™am Myra Almaden, panelist, for their unwavering support, strong leadership, and invaluable guidance. Their presence, encouragement, and commitment to academic excellence greatly contributed to the smooth and successful conduct of the Research Colloquium. Through their continued support, our learners were empowered to showcase their knowledge and skills with confidence, making this event truly meaningful and impactful for the entire school community.

Above all, these young researchers were guided and mentored by their dedicated Research Adviser, Clide Nicco B. Opada whose passion for research, hands-on guidance, and unwavering commitment empowered students to think critically, work ethically, and present confidently.

Congratulations to all our research and poster presentation winners!

Indeed, through research, we advance knowledge, empower learners, and serve the community.

10 February 2026

As part of the Career Days celebration of Taguitic Integrated School, one of the highlights of the activity was guiding learners in making informed decisions about their future. The school community played a vital role in directing students toward the right career paths through meaningful support and accurate information.

A key segment of the program was the orientation on the features of the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum for Grade 10 students. We were honored by the presence of Maโ€™am Shiela Divino, SHS Chairperson of Bansarvil National High School, with the support of their principal, Sir Jestoni Jueves. Ma'am Shiela shared valuable insights on the curriculumโ€™s key components, opportunities, and advantages, enabling learners to better understand the pathways available to them.

Learners actively participated by asking relevant questions that helped them choose the most suitable track aligned with their interests and aspirations. Moreover, the Senior High School teachers of Taguitic Integrated School clarified misconceptions and addressed areas of confusion regarding the curriculum.

Through this initiative, we remained aligned with our theme of guiding studentsโ€™ career decisions through accurate and meaningful information. We sincerely hope that our collective efforts will empower our learners, for they are the future of our fatherland.

Para sa Bata at Bayan.
