Mainit NHS set to open after public consultation, brings education within reach

A public consultation was held for the opening of Mainit National High School, set to operate as an extension of Kapatagan National High School inside Apolandia Elementary School on March 23, 2026.

"Naa proseso unsaon pag-form sa school, ug ang Kapatagan NHS mo-extend og resources para suportahan kini," said Schools Division Superintendent Melanie P. Estacio, assuring community support.

Estacio encouraged parents to enroll their children, stressing that DepEd will bring education closer to the community. "Dili mi magduha-duha pagtabang sa inyuha kay kabalo mi sa performance sa mga bata diri sa Mainit," she said.

Barangay Captain Juanito Morales Sr. highlighted the importance of accessible education for families. "Para sa mga anak nga mas duol ug mas mamonitor sa mga ginikanan," he said, linking education to community stability.

He added, “Kung gubot ang pamilya, gubot ang barangay. Usa ta kapamilya, ug bantayan nato ang kaugmaon sa Barangay Kapatagan.”

Morales also announced the donation of four classrooms through a private benefactor, Mr. Zapanta.

The consultation featured the presentation of the Site Development Plan, discussions, consensus-building, a possible memorandum of agreement signing, and a pledge of commitment from stakeholders.

“COMPASSION: A Project of Davao Region Association of Schools Superintendents (DRASS), Handog para sa Bata for the Learners of Apolandia Elementary School.”

With the theme “Handog para sa Bata,” our learners were given a big opportunity to experience a day full of joy, excitement, and surprises! 💙 From receiving special bags filled with goodies, enjoying delicious Jollibee treats, to meeting the famous Jollibee mascot up close, every moment was filled with laughter, smiles, and happy hearts. 🎒

This meaningful initiative by Davao Region Association of Schools Superintendents (DRASS) reminded our learners that kindness, care, and compassion can make a huge difference in their lives. It was truly a day to cherish and remember, inspiring our young learners to dream bigger and feel valued.
