Dear NHI Family:
It is with sadness to let you all know, that Ma'am Edith (Expedita Baclohan Polinio) finally succumbed to her illness, early this morning. She was suffering from breast cancer soon after her retirement from NHI in 2017.

During her retirement, we held a testimonial dinner for her at Sabin Resort Hotel in Ormoc City, together with some members of the BOT and the full work-force for the incoming SY of 2017-18, where she was recognized and honored for her 35 years of faithful service to the institution.

She first served as a classroom teacher teaching Advanced Algebra and other Math subjects when she started in the SY 1982, later on teaching Science and AP Subjects which she was really good at, and later became our School Librarian until her retirement. She was a passionate and staunch supporter of the Path Finders team.. ready to fight anytime. 😊💪
She was also an alumna of NHI, thus, her loyalty to the institution is unquestionable. Despite receiving low compensation (compared to those working in the government institutions) and the reality of her own financial needs, she remained serving our institution with passion and commitment. She was one of those considered as "terror" teachers, but no one could deny that she was one of the best teachers NHI ever had.💞

We extend our deep sympathy to her immediate family, and to the Baclohan clan (most if not all, graduated from NHI) originally from Brgy. Tugbong. We pray for God's comfort to embrace you in this time of grief, esp in the midst of this pandemic where we could not observe our usual tradition of honoring the dead and extending our condolencies to the bereaved family. Please know that you are in our hearts and thoughts.💜🙏

Fare thee well, Ma'am Edith! May God in his grace and mercy, bid thee "Welcome" in His paradise.🙏🙏

Announcement to our NHI Family:

There was an emergency meeting with the faculty and staff this afternoon that discussed the ff:
1. Early suspension of classes for this school year. The LGU of Kananga thru the Office of the Mayor issued an Executive Order that declared suspension of classes, both in the public and private sectors, effective March 16, 2020 (tomorrow, Monday).
So instead of March 18 as our last school day that I circulated thru a Memo last week, it will now be March 16, 2020.

So there will be no more classes for this SY beginning tomorrow.

2. The conduct of the final exams and compliance of other requirements which we scheduled on March 17-18 for the non- graduating learners/students (Grades 1-5 for the Elem., Grades 7-9 for JHS, and Grade 11 for SHS), except for all Honor students in all grade levels.

Note: Final exams for all honor students/learners and the graduating class were already conducted much earlier, and grades have already been computed. We will soon be posting the Honors' List for SY 2019-20.

Since suspension of classes is now 2 days ahead of schedule, and the schedule of our final exams is affected, we have agreed an alternative way which will be elaborated in my Memo Circular 002 that 1I will post later on another FB closed account for the NHI Family (which will be created later by sir Ryan York Horca). All other important concerns, instructions and guidelines to be followed in your need to comply all year-end requirements will be posted there in detail.

Calling on all parents to be informed too and to cooperate in all that we have decided and agreed on.

I will connect with you through the other FB group page, after this post. Thank you.

God bless everyone! Stay safe!
Remember to WASH your hands frequenty, and PRAY without ceasing.

🙏🙏

With my prayers,
Ma'am Dobert.😘

Happy Teachers’ Day! God bless you all!

Meanwhile Pls stay at home while we wait so that you don’t need to travel to school. By 7:30am if we receive NO Advise, we will conduct classes as usual. Thanks!
