Tip #1: ICD-10-PCS Coding for Mechanical Ventilation.

It doesn't matter if the patient is intubated in the Emergency Room. Coding for Mechanical Ventilation is counted the time the patient started on Vent.

After the mechanical ventilator is turned off, it is inappropriate to continue to count ventilation hours, even though the patient is continually being evaluated.
