Building Strong Foundations Through Movement!
Part 3โค๏ธ
The Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) Program of the College of Education, Kalinga State University, successfully conducted a "Community Play Session", a key activity of the "MOVE to Learn: Promoting Fundamental Movement Awareness among Early Learners" extension program.๐ซถ
The activity brought together grades 1, 2, and 3 students of Greenhills Elementary School in a fun, active, and engaging environment where BPEd 4th year student volunteers served as facilitators and movement mentors, introducing children to fundamental movement skills (FMS) through play-based learning.โจ
The children enthusiastically practiced locomotor skills such as running, hopping, and skipping; non-locomotor skills; and manipulative skills like throwing, catching, and kicking. Every child was encouraged to move with confidence, develop coordination, and discover the joy of physical activity.โผ๏ธ
Beyond teaching movement skills, the activity provided an invaluable opportunity for our BPEd students to apply their classroom knowledge in a real community setting, strengthening their competencies in instruction, leadership, communication, classroom management, and child-centered teaching.๐
Together, we inspire movement, nurture potential, and create lasting impactโone child, one game, and one step at a time.โค๏ธโจ
