The last museum visit of the MedTech Educational Tour โ€™26 brought the students to the ๐ˆ๐ฅ๐จ๐ข๐ฅ๐จ ๐Œ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ ๐€๐ซ๐ญ in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.

As they explored the museum, the students learned the stories behind different artworks, including one piece that took an artist three days to complete without eating. They also heard the fascinating story of how a real beehive later appeared outside after the artwork was displayed.

During the visit, the students viewed photographs by different photographers and participated in an interactive exhibit where they selected photos from different piles, wrote their own messages on pieces of paper, and hung them in the designated space.

They also explored the museumโ€™s galleries, where they saw various paintings, creative art installations, and even a collection of Japanese toys. The visit was a fitting conclusion to their museum tour, giving them the opportunity to experience art in many different forms and appreciate the creativity behind each exhibit.

The Day 3 itinerary included a visit to ๐€๐ฏ๐š๐ง๐œ๐žรฑ๐š-๐‚๐š๐ฆ๐ขรฑ๐š ๐๐š๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ ๐๐ ๐š ๐๐š๐ญ๐จ in Arevalo, Iloilo City. The students were introduced to the history of the 165-year-old heritage house and learned about traditions practiced during the Spanish colonial period. They were also shown how Doรฑas used to walk sideways while going up the stairs, giving them a glimpse of the customs observed by upper-class women in the past.

After touring the upper floor, the students were served the houseโ€™s famous hot chocolate with biscuits. They also experienced ringing a bell to request a refill of the hot chocolate, just as upper-class families did many years ago.

It was a simple yet memorable experience that gave the students a deeper appreciation of Ilonggo history, culture, and traditions.

Another stop on Day 3 was ๐‚๐š๐ฌ๐š ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐ญ, one of the oldest heritage houses in Iloilo City. Built in 1803, the house gave the students a glimpse of what life was like centuries ago through its antique furniture, family heirlooms, and well-preserved rooms. It was also the home of former Philippine Vice President Fernando Lopez and his wife, Mariquit.

During the tour, the students learned that Casa Mariquit once served as both a family residence and a bank. They were shown where money was kept and even learned about the tunnel connected to the house.

The visit gave the students a deeper appreciation of Casa Mariquitโ€™s rich history and highlighted the importance of preserving heritage homes that continue to tell the stories of the past.

Day 3 started with a visit to the ๐”๐ ๐•๐ข๐ฌ๐š๐ฒ๐š๐ฌ ๐Œ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฎ๐ฆ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐€๐ซ๐ญ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‚๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐‡๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐š๐ ๐ž, where the students explored galleries featuring artworks, traditional textiles, and cultural exhibits from Western Visayas.

They also learned that some of the museumโ€™s collections came from Kalibo and other parts of Aklan, showcasing the rich culture and traditions of the region.

As they explored the museum, the students noticed that the floors inside the galleries moved slightly. The guides explained that this was an earthquake-resistant design that helps protect the building during seismic activity. Although it felt unusual at first, it became one of the most memorable parts of their museum experience.

One of the highlights of the MedTech Educational Tour '26 was the visit to the ๐š„๐š—๐š’๐šŸ๐šŽ๐š›๐šœ๐š’๐š๐šข ๐š˜๐š ๐š‚๐šŠ๐š— ๐™ฐ๐š๐šž๐šœ๐š๐š’๐š—. The morning was spent exploring the College of Pharmacy and Medical Technology Department, where they explored the laboratories, classrooms, and facilities while learning more about the department's academic environment. In the afternoon, they joined a campus tour, exploring different buildings, student spaces, and learning facilities that gave them a better look at what university life is.

The campus tour gave the students a closer look at one of Iloilo City's well-known universities, allowing them to learn more about its programs and learning environment.

The students explored different galleries filled with paintings, sculptures, and other modern artworks created by various artists.

Everyone enjoyed viewing the different art displays, taking photos and learning the stories behind each piece. Through the different artworks and exhibits, the students gained a greater appreciation for the creativity and talent of artists.
