In quiet reflection this 𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙮, we remember the suffering and sacrifice of Christ on the cross, an act of love that continues to touch every generation.

Though marked by sorrow, this day is not without hope, for in His suffering, we see the depth of divine love, mercy, and redemption. Through His wounds, we are healed; through His sacrifice, we are forgiven.

As we pause in remembrance, may we reflect on His boundless compassion and be inspired to live it out to forgive, to show kindness, and to love without condition.

In the stillness of this sacred day, may our hearts remain steadfast in faith, grounded in humility, and filled with gratitude for the grace given so freely for us.

In a quiet room, with simple bread and shared cups, Christ chose to love in the most humble way, by serving. He knelt, washed feet, and showed that true greatness is found in lowering oneself for others.

No grand words, no display.
𝙅𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖 𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙠𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙚𝙡𝙨𝙚.

Now, in a time where headlines are filled with war, conflict, and division, it is easy to think that gentleness has no place left.

When noise, anger, and pride take over, we begin to lose sight of the kind of love that serves, listens, and chooses peace.

Yet this day quietly points us back, to kindness over indifference, humility over pride, and peace over hate.

As the day begins, may we learn to do the same.
To reflect. To listen. To serve.

𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀: A Holy Week Reflection from SMLS🙏✨

Between the long hours in the lab, the pressure of upcoming practicals, and the constant hum of analyzers, it’s easy to feel like we’re always running on a timer. But as we step into Semana Santa, the halls of the School of Medical Laboratory Science grow quiet. This isn't just a holiday or a break from the routine; it’s an invitation to look inward and remember a journey that changed everything.

Beginning with Maundy Thursday, we commemorate the Last Supper and the call to serve with humility. On Good Friday, we reflect on Christ’s ultimate sacrifice on the cross. Black Saturday invites us into silence and hopeful waiting, leading to the joyful celebration of Easter Sunday...the triumph of life over death.

We often look at the cross and see an ending, but Holy Week teaches us that the cross was actually the beginning of hope. After the deepest pain came the miracle; after the longest silence came the resurrection.

There is a powerful lesson for us here: our struggles are not dead ends. They are the soil where our strength and faith begin to grow. This is a sacred time of stillness, a rare chance to listen to the voice of God that often gets drowned out by the noise of our daily grind.

𝗔𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸, 𝗹𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀: In our hurry to get ahead and reach our goals, have we lost touch with the "why" behind it all? Are we making enough space in our lives for the things that actually matter...faith, compassion, and the people around us?

May this season be more than just a long weekend. May it be a time of true renewal, where we find the courage to let go of the old and embrace a future filled with hope.

Every 23rd of March, we commemorate the death of the Nineteen Martyr's of Aklan who gave their lives for the Fatherland on March 23, 1897, in Kalibo, Aklan. They were put in prison, starved, lashed, pounded by butts of guns and were shot to death.

On this 129th commemoration, we honor the brave souls who stood for Aklan’s freedom during the height of the Philippine Revolution:

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | Gabrielians gathered at the SGC Gymnasium on 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟭𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 for the 𝗛𝗜𝗩 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 organized by the College Red Cross Youth Council, for an afternoon of learning and awareness. The activity raised awareness on HIV and highlighted the importance of mental health among students.

The seminar featured 𝗠𝗿. 𝗘𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗹 𝗥. 𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘇, 𝗥𝗡, who presented data on HIV cases and explained the different modes of transmission to help students better understand prevention. 𝗠𝗿. 𝗖𝗲𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗩. 𝗖𝘂𝘀𝗮𝘆 from the PYDO also shared insights on mental health and the importance of caring for one’s well-being. The discussion encouraged students to stay informed and help promote a more aware and supportive school community.

Panay Liberation Day, alternatively Panay Landing Day and Victory (Liberation) Day on Panay is an annual event that commemorates the landing on Panay during the Battle of the Visayas in World War II. Every March 18 under Proclamation No. 430, communities across Panay and Romblon remembers the courage and sacrifice of the Panay guerrilla forces who launched their decisive offensive against the Japanese Imperial Army in 1945.

In remembering this chapter of our history, we are called to reflect on the kind of courage it took; not only to fight, but to hope, to endure, and to rise as one people.

As Gabrielians, may we carry that same courage in our everyday pursuit of truth, excellence, and service. Just as freedom was once fought for, we should continue to stand for what is right, with integrity and purpose.

There’s a special kind of energy in the air today, a mix of "I’m so tired" and "I’m so relieved." Watching our MedTechs walk out of the PRC venues was the highlight of the week. You’ve traded your social lives for those review modules for months, and today, you finally get your life back katusok.

The countdown to 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 11 begins, but until then, no more overthinking! Just rest. We’re so proud of you, future RMTs! 🥂🧬
