New academic year. New leaders. One shared pursuit: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵.

As we embark on another chapter of Academic Year 2026–2027, the NVC Forensic Science Department proudly welcomes its newly elected departmental officers — students who have stepped forward to serve, lead, and represent their fellow Forensic Science students.

Leadership is more than holding a position or carrying a title. It is the willingness to listen, the courage to take responsibility, and the commitment to serve even when the work goes unseen. These officers now take on the responsibility of becoming the voice of their peers, bridging students and the department, and helping create an environment where every Forensic Science student can learn, grow, and thrive.

To our newly elected officers, congratulations! May you lead not for the title, but for the people you represent. Together, let us make this academic year one worth remembering.

A new batch of Forensic Science students means another batch of stories are waiting to be uncovered. This year, we continue the tradition with a little twist for the freshmen, as we ask them “Why forensic science?” Behind every choice is a reason, a dream, a curiosity, or perhaps a plot twist that led them to this course. Let's meet the new faces, hear their stories, and discover what made them say, “This is the course for me,” because every forensic journey begins with a story, and every story deserves to be heard.👀🗣

𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔: 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐇 𝐀𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃

The 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 of 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘀 welcomed its students to a new academic year through a Forensic Orientation 2026, held on August 14, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the ASQ building. The activity served as an avenue for students to prepare for another year of learning, discovery, and growth in the field of Forensic Science. The program formally opened with a prayer led by FSSC Vice Governor, Roxanne Abelita, followed by the singing of the NVC Hymn led by Estelle Sagun, Treasurer, and Terence Agoy, Auditor.

The orientation featured messages from the department’s leaders and faculty, beginning with the Dean of Criminology, Dr. Patrick Earl D. Prado, who shared words of guidance and encouragement as students embarked on another academic year. This was followed by a talk from Dr. Vicente Quimpo, Forensic Science Program Head, and Sharon F. Retubis, Forensic Science Program Coordinator, who provided students with insights and reminders to help them navigate the responsibilities and opportunities that come with being part of the Forensic Science program. An open forum also allowed students to engage, raise questions, and gain a deeper understanding of the journey ahead.

Beyond the formal discussions, the orientation also created an opportunity for students to strengthen their sense of community. The program continued with games and an icebreaker, followed by the election of student representatives, allowing students to take part in shaping their department’s activities and leadership for the academic year. The newly updated program also includes a fingerprint activity, giving students an opportunity to engage in an activity closely connected to the discipline they are pursuing and to experience forensic learning beyond the classroom.

As another academic year begins, the Forensic Science Department looks forward to a year filled with challenges that will sharpen students’ skills, experiences that will strengthen their character, and lessons that will bring them closer to becoming future forensic professionals. With truth as our pursuit and justice as our purpose, may every student continue to learn, investigate, and grow — one trace, one discovery, and one case at a time.

The road to graduation is never easy. For the graduates of the Bachelor of Forensic Science program at Northwestern Visayan Colleges, the journey was marked by countless challenges, sleepless nights, academic requirements, internship responsibilities, and moments that tested their resilience. Yet despite every obstacle that came their way, they pressed forward with determination, courage, and an unwavering commitment to their goals.

Throughout their stay at NVC, these graduates did not simply fulfill academic requirements. They became active contributors to the growth of the ForSci community, representing the department in competitions, leadership roles, student organizations, and various campus events. Their achievements brought recognition not only to themselves but also to the entire Forensic Science Department.

Among this year’s graduates are individuals who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance, leadership, and dedication. Their accomplishments serve as inspiration for the younger generations of Forensic Science students who aspire to follow in their footsteps.

𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐧𝐠: 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐬 1𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫-𝐔𝐩

From December 9–12, 2025, Northwestern Visayan Colleges hosted NVC Palaro 2025, an interdepartmental event featuring competitions in dance, music, sports, and more.

The Team Primos Acapella Group from the Forensic Science Department earned 1st Runner-Up in the Acapella Competition, showcasing confidence, harmony, and strong stage presence.

The 10-member group included seven Forensic Science students — Jessie Joy C. Bereber, Avril Kyle L. Redison, Leila Marie M. Dalayday, Joana Trisha D. Montallana, Estelle D. Sagun, Terence Agoy, and Khyn Akizah Emmary T. Namanama — whose coordinated performance reflected discipline and teamwork.

Khyn Akizah Emmary T. Namanama shared, “We know it wasn’t perfect, but we’re proud to have earned 1st runner-up and to represent our department.”

Their achievement highlights unity, resilience, and dedication, turning participation into meaningful success.
