MR. PETER S. MACROHON took up Bachelor of Music, Major in Music Education with emphasis in Voice, Rondalla and Choral Conducting at the Conservatory of Music of the University of Sto. Tomas. He was a former member of the San Miguel Master Chorale of the San Miguel Foundation for the Performing Arts under the tutelage of the “National Artist for Music” Maestro Ryan Cayabyab. He has performed with the Singapore Lyric Opera in Verdi's “IL TROVATORE” and Bizet's “CARMEN” in the Esplanade & Victoria Theatre in Singapore. He trained with the world-famous UST Singers apart from being a soloist and bass section leader of Coro Tomasino. He has also performed in countless concert series, corporate and private engagements, summer camps, and festivals all over the Philippines. He has been the Artistic Director and Consultant of Gawad Kalinga Tatalon Performing Arts Group– the “Cultural Ambassadors of the Gawad Kalinga Community” to the world and the Best Choral Group nominee in the 28th Aliw Awards.
As the Voice and Creative Music Facilitator of the UNESCO International Theater Institute & National Commission for Culture & the Arts KALAHI Cultural Caregiving Project, he was a recipient of the “OUTSTANDING ARTIST AWARD” given during the ASEAN Festival of the Arts in Clark, Pampanga last March, 2010. He was also one of the musical directors of the 2010 ALIW AWARDS Best Musical Production “BALER SA PUSO KO”. His international appearances and participation as a performer, vocal coach, choreographer, facilitator and director also include the Philippines series of cultural events celebrating the 1st ASEAN CULTURE CAPITAL in Pampanga in 2010-2011, the 4th ASEAN Festival of the Arts, the 2nd International Dance Exchange, and the DIA DEL GALEON FESTIVAL”.
He has been the Founder & the Artistic Director of Gloria’s Fantasyland's World-Class resident performers, “SINGHAY DAPITAN" The group won the Best New Concept Production, Best Performance in a New Concept Production, Best Cultural Group, Best Production for Children and the Best Group Instrumentalist in the 29th Aliw Awards held at Dusit Hotel, Makati Last November 30, 2016.
Presently, he is the International Festival Forum Chairman and the Project Catalyst for Western Visayas of the UNESCO International Theatre Institute – Philippine Center, Founding Artistic Director of Aklan Performing Arts Network - 2017 Aliw Awardee for Best Cultural Group. Apart from being the Executive Director for Visayas and Mindanao of the World Costume Festival, he is also the Regional Director for Western Visayas of the Philippine Art Educators Association.
Aside from being a lifetime member of the Philippine Folk Dance Society and the President of the PFDS Akean Chapter, he is also an active member of the Philippine Choral Directors Association.
