To advocate for women and celebrate diversity, CPCST joined in the National Women's Month Celebration 2024 on April 5, 2024, at the CPCST Ground Floor.
The event featured a variety of fun activities that promoted inclusivity, diversity, and equality. It aims to promote human rights in a community where inclusivity and equality coexist. It has a theme: " Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan nga Kababaihan Papatunayan!"
Furthermore, there were two portions to the event: morning and afternoon. In the morning, there were contests wherein children demonstrated their abilities in writing, speaking, and painting. These contests included essay writing, extemporaneous speech, spoken word poetry, and poster making. Students were enjoying the contests as they demonstrated what they're capable of.
In the afternoon, SSLG hosted a seminar including two guest speakers: Ms. Lara Mae Cortes and Mrs. Nelly A. De La Cruz. Ms. Cortes discussed gender stereotypes that are prevalent in our community. While Mrs. De La Cruz goes into the topic of True Love Waits.
The seminar ensures that students are familiar with the fundamental rights of women and everyone in the community.
The event concluded with a photo opportunity with the guest speakers, faculty and staff, BA ELS interns from ASU-Main Campus, and SSLG officers.
