MY UNIVERSE

BTS Appreciation Post 💜

I must say, things have been hard ever since the pandemic. As a person with Anxiety, coupled with Anxiety attack episodes every now and then, coping up with everything for the past year up to now is very challenging.

But these men right here, I can say, they have been saving me, slowly and surely during these uncertain times. Ewan ko lang kung ako lang ba but there is this genuine happiness that I feel when I always see them. It’s not just because they have the looks, voice, charm and charisma. But there is always this soul-deep appreciation I have for them in the way they create music.

Because of their songs, especially the newest collaboration with Coldplay, ngayon ko lang na realize how interconnected we are. And that no matter how hard everything is, there will always be people who will make you special and see you as their universe.

So thank you, BTS, for always making us feel good about ourselves, for allowing us to be free with how we embrace our love for music, and for reminding us that we are all in this together, in this beautiful and hopeful universe. ✨

The Squid Game Takeaways 🦑

1. If you can, stop the cycle of utang! Debt is a bottomless pit. If you don’t know how to get rid of this in your life, it will be a lifelong struggle, pati family mo for sure, madadamay. Never allow yourself to be consumed by debt.

2. Never risk money if there is no way for you to gain it back. Sabi nga nila, don’t put all your eggs in one basket! Only spend what you can afford to lose.

3. Do NOT depend on others to be financially stable! Save your own money, be financially dependent and never let someone manipulate you in terms of spending. Research and know the tricks on what are the best ways to save. Wag i-asa ky mama/papa/ate/kuya/tito/tita ang mga gastusin mo. If you are able to get a job, start managing your finances wisely!

4. Trust the right people! No matter how kind and giving you are, some people will always steal the chance for you to fail, especially sa pera. If they see a chance makalamang, they’ll grab this chance. Be wise in trusting people, or better yet, pag pera mo, ikaw na mag tago and alaga.

5. Kung afford mo, get insurance! Health and life insurance are big safety nets for you pag dumating ang araw na magkasakit ka or mag goodbye ka na sa world. Mahirap na may iniinda kang sakit, pero mas na i-stress ka sa babayaran mo sa hospital! Or pag deads na, ang family mo naman na maiiwan ang mag po problema sa gastos!

6. And lastly, wag mo na hintayin ang point na paglaruan ka pa ng ibang tao just because you can’t pull your life together financially. Habang bata ka pa, mag SAVE! Have an emergency fund, categorize your expenses, be minimalistic, and prioritize the important things. Your future self will thank you for it!

The series will open your eyes to how a person’s financial decision will affect his/her life in the long run. Kaya ikaw, if may 1 Billion pesos ka, what will you do with that money? Think wisely. 💚

We all love Steve from Blues Clues! But I’m pretty sure almost all millenials know this guy too - Neil Buchanan from Art Attack!

Remember those giant artworks that he would make? And who can forget “The Head”?! Nothing but pure nostalgia and so many uplifting memories from the 90’s. ❤️

Thank you to Steve and Neil for making our childhood amazing! Even though we are now parents, professionals, leaders, and everything in between, your passion and craft has helped us so much in being the people that we are today. 🙏🏻

AM I A BAD PARENT WHEN I LET MY KIDS HAVE SCREEN TIME? 📱

I do let them use gadgets and I am not ashamed of this. 💁🏻‍♀️

Let’s be real, mommies. Full time working parents will never have the luxury to be hands-on and bantayan ang mga kids 24/7. Like me, I work full time and have side jobs in between. I have a toddler and a 5 year old at home. I can’t imagine having me-time, let alone yung mga parents that have 4 or more children in their household! My gahd!

So one of the ways to keep them busy is to give them an iPad. This is so I can finish my work early and can attend to them early as well.

But of course, may mga iba talagang tao na cannot understand this so they go and make a comment like, “Huy, alam mo ba si __, hinahayaan yung anak niya mag laro ng iPad! Hindi marunong mag alaga ng anak.”

Well, all I can say is, we can never tell the reason why a parent gives a gadget to a child. And in actuality, wala po tayong right to question the parent because it’s his/her child.

The only thing that makes it bad is when the child gets ADDICTED to it. So how can we avoid this? Here are some helpful tips:

❗️Have a schedule of screentime
If it’s 2 or 3 hours per day, stick to it! Alot a specific time whether it’s 3-5pm or 9-11am every MWF or Sat and Sun only.

❗️No means no!
If your child is complaining that his/her screentime is already over, tell them firmly that no more extensions. Masasanay sila if we let them have another half or whole hour of screentime. This results to more complaining in the long run.

❗️Have a rewards system
You can come up of a rewards system wherein you can challenge your child to not have his/her screentime in a certain day. Let the child have physical activities instead. Once magawa to ni baby, cook him his favorite meal or buy him a new toy.

❗️Most importantly, make sure you monitor what they are playing or watching and that everything is child-friendly!

Of course, iba pa rin talaga if walang screentime ang mga bata and they immerse themselves in physical activitities instead. But let’s be realistic - IMPOSIBLE ANG GANITONG SET UP SA IBANG PARENTS.

Remember that you are NOT A BAD PARENT for letting your kids have screentime. As long as this is well managed and well controlled sa household, then you are doing a great job of caring for your kids. 😘
