𝐑𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐀 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞

Different year, same situation. Being placed in an area where tropical cyclones are usually formed, heavy rains and flashfloods became a normal sight for the Filipino citizens.

Destructed homes, lost lives. The same scenario plays every year that “resilience” became a badge Filipinos carry. It’s a good thing to be resilient; But resilience won’t fix what corruption keeps breaking. And at some point, resilience has to mean demanding better.

Trillions go to flood control projects, and yet, everytime a catastrophe hits our land, nothing changes. We are still stuck in the same cycle of late responses and failed projects from the government.

It’s time we demand something better: transparency, justice, and good governance. In situations where their greed demands silence, let us raise our voice higher and louder than it should be. Be updated, be aware, be involved, and together, let’s make a better country for the generations to come.
