| 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗨𝗧𝗣𝗛 '𝟮𝟳

Former KCC Herald photojournalist Justin Erillo Locsing was officially sashed as the representative of Negros Occidental during the NIR Sashing Ceremony and Press Presentation held on August 21, 2026, in Bacolod City.

The event introduced nine exceptional candidates from the Negros Island Region (NIR) who are set to compete for the opportunity to represent the region on the national stage. Eight gentlemen will vie for the Mister Metropolitan Philippines 2026 (MMPH) title, while Locsing is among the candidates competing for the chance to represent NIR in Mister Tourism Universe Philippines (MUTPH) 2027.

“The people who pushed me to join this prestigious pageant are those around me, specifically my friends, family, and my manager and Provincial Director, Jether M. Palma, who saw potential in me and believed that I could do it. Additionally, I’m doing this for Negros Occidental, as I see this as both a privilege and an opportunity to represent our province in a national pageant, showcase our culture, and highlight the beauty of Negros Occidental through this platform,” Locsing said, emphasizing that his participation is driven by his desire to represent Negros Occidental on the national stage and showcase the province’s culture and beauty.

Locsing will continue his journey in the competition, carrying the name of Negros Occidental as he vies for the opportunity to represent the Negros Island Region in Mister Tourism Universe Philippines 2027.

𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗖𝗬. Ninoy Aquino Day commemorates the life and sacrifice of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., whose assassination on August 21, 1983, became a pivotal moment in Philippine history. His steadfast opposition to authoritarian rule and his commitment to democratic ideals helped galvanize public calls for reform and greater political participation.

As we remember his contributions, we also reflect on the enduring values of democracy, freedom, and civic engagement. Ninoy Aquino’s legacy remains an important chapter in the nation’s continuing pursuit of justice and accountable governance.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1006, s. 2025, declaring the regular holidays and special non-working days for the year 2026, Friday, August 21, 2026, is declared a Special Non-Working Day in observance of Ninoy Aquino Day.

In view of this declaration, there shall be no classes and no office work on Friday, August 21, 2026.

The entire school community is encouraged to take this long weekend as an opportunity to rest, recharge, and spend meaningful time with family and loved ones.

To father Lachica and KCC personnels, pwede mag suggest for the safety sang mga kids nmon, regarding sa gakatabo subong sa mga schools,( ang pagdala armas kag killings inside sang school), daw kadamo na gd, aside from earthquake and fire drills pwede kita mka add or request drills pra sa mga students naton esp ang mga gagmay, kung ano dpat himuon nila in case ini matabo sa aton school. Diin sila makdto ano i react nila or himuon to stay safe. Kag sa mga criminology studenta subong nga gin deploy around campus , naappreciate gd nmon but no use kung sila mismo wala man training or gin tudluan regarding sa amo ni nga issue. All should be subjected sa proper training or seminar pra sa amo ni nga emergency para sa safety snag tanan sa campus. Thank you gid. Kabay makalab ot sa babaw🙏
