| Sa hangaring mapanatili ang kaligtasan sa loob ng paaralan, may ilang paaralan sa Pilipinas ang nagpatupad ng transparent bag policy upang mas madaling masuri ang mga dalang gamit ng mga estudyante bago makapasok sa kampus.

Layunin ng polisiya na maiwasan ang pagpuslit ng mga ipinagbabawal o mapanganib na bagay sa paaralan. Para sa mga sumusuporta rito, maaari itong magsilbing karagdagang hakbang upang mapalakas ang seguridad at agad na matukoy ang mga bagay na maaaring magdulot ng panganib sa mga mag-aaral at school personnel.

Subalit, kasabay ng layuning gawing mas ligtas ang paaralan ay ang mga tanong tungkol sa privacy at dignidad ng mga estudyante. Para sa ilan, maaaring maging intrusive ang pagkakaroon ng bag na madaling makita ang laman, lalo na kung personal na gamit ang nakalagay dito.

May mga nagtatanong din kung sapat ba ang isang polisiya sa bag upang matugunan ang mas malalalim na problemang kinakaharap ng mga paaralan. Bukod sa mga bagay na maaaring makita sa loob ng bag, may iba pang salik na maaaring makaapekto sa kilos at desisyon ng isang estudyante, gaya ng peer influence, family involvement, disiplina, mental health, at kapaligirang ginagalawan nito.

Sa kabilang banda, hindi rin maikakaila ang responsibilidad ng mga paaralan na gumawa ng mga hakbang upang maprotektahan ang kanilang mga estudyante. Maaaring makatulong ang transparent bag policy bilang bahagi ng mas malawak na security measures, lalo na kung malinaw ang mga patakaran at maayos ang pagpapatupad nito.

Sa pagitan ng seguridad at privacy, mahalagang mabigyan ng sapat na konsiderasyon ang parehong pangangailangan ng school community upang matiyak na ang mga hakbang para sa kaligtasan ay hindi magiging kapalit ng dignidad at karapatan ng mga estudyante.

Dahil dito, nais naming marinig ang inyong pananaw: Sa inyong tingin, nakatutulong ba ang transparent bag policy sa pagpapanatili ng seguridad sa paaralan o may mas epektibong paraan upang mapanatiling ligtas ang school community nang hindi isinasantabi ang privacy at dignidad ng mga estudyante?

๐—ข๐—ก ๐—”๐—œ๐—ฅ. The KCC Herald Radio Broadcasting Team put their news delivery and broadcasting skills to the test during the K5 Kabankalan News FM Radio Broadcasting auditions, held at the Kabankalan Training Center on August 23.

The audition gathered young campus journalists from across Kabankalan, with teams from Fortress College (FC), Southland College (SC), Himamaylan National High School (HNHS), and Kabankalan Catholic College, Inc. (KCC) taking part.

With microphones in hand and news as their material, the Herald team worked together to deliver their broadcast while navigating the pressure and fast pace of the competition.

โ€œIt was a fun experience. Weโ€™re actually composed mostly of English broadcasters, so we knew where we lacked, and Filipino broadcasting was really not our forte. We werenโ€™t nervous, but we gave our best, and we think thatโ€™s what matters,โ€ the Herald broadcasters said.

Beyond the competition, the event gave participating teams the opportunity to put their broadcasting skills into practice, learn from one another, and experience the challenges of delivering news beyond the printed page.

Meanwhile, HNHS was chosen to represent K5 News FM Kabankalan in the NIR DTX 500 Live Radio Broadcasting Competition, set to take place at SM City Bacolod on September 13, 2026.
