YOUTH FOR A GREENER NEGROS OCCIDENTAL๐ŸŒ

The Supreme Student Government (SSG) of Southland College proudly participated in the Provincial Youth Environment Summit held today at the Capitol Social Hall, bringing together young environmental advocates from various LGUs across Negros Occidental.

Representing Southland College were Mark Anthonete Dunton, Johnrel Talita, and Zedrick Vingno, together with SSG Adviser Sir Lemar Kim T. Bati-on, LPT, MAEd.

With the theme โ€œRethink Waste: Youth Leading the Circular Economy and Zero Waste,โ€ the summit provided a meaningful platform to deepen the youthโ€™s understanding of environmental concerns, promote climate action, and strengthen their commitment to protecting and preserving the provinceโ€™s natural resources.

Spearheaded by the Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO) and the Negrosanon Initiative for Climate and the Environment (NICE), the summit emphasized the important role of young people as partners in advancing sustainable development, environmental protection, and responsible waste management.**

Through learning sessions, discussions, and exchanges of ideas, the participating youth were encouraged to turn awareness into meaningful action. The activity will culminate in a guided learning tour at Negros Forest Park, facilitated by the Negros Forests and Ecological Foundation, Inc. (NFEFI).
