𝗡𝗢𝗪 | The last session of Day 1 of the 2026 Campus Peace Symposium is currently underway this afternoon, September 22, at the St. Columban Arts Center, featuring a discussion and orientation focusing on the Implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Process in Negros Oriental.

April M. Casalem, Negros South Coordinator from the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU), shares key insights with students on the processes, initiatives, and efforts involved in advancing the comprehensive peace agenda in the region.

The second session of the 2026 Campus Peace Symposium, conducted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), is currently ongoing at the St. Columban Arts Center today, September 22.

Lieutenant Decilan Joy Egsan of the 47th Infantry Battalion leads the discussion on Patriotism and Nationalism, followed by Sgt. Romeo Uy of the 47th Infantry Battalion, who is set to discuss Insurgency Awareness and the Seven (7) Stages of Youth Recruitment.

𝗡𝗢𝗪 | Kabankalan Catholic College, Inc. (KCC) gathers students, student leaders, invited guests, and government officials today, September 22, for the Campus Peace Symposium 2026 at the St. Columban Arts Center, carrying the theme, “Kapayapaan Pagtibayin, Kaunlaran Paigtingin.”

The two-day symposium is currently underway, featuring discussions on youth infiltration awareness, the seven stages of youth recruitment, Executive Order No. 70, and the Government’s Comprehensive Peace Process. The conversations bring participants together in learning and dialogue centered on peace consciousness, responsible citizenship, and youth development. The discussions continue as KCC strengthens a culture of peace within and beyond the campus.

𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗢 | Here are the highlights from the PhilHealth YAKAP Program and CPR Day held on September 21 at the St. Columban Arts Center. The program brought together fourth-year students and faculty members for discussions on essential health services, PhilHealth benefits, and social insurance.

Following the YAKAP Program, the Philippine Red Cross–Kabankalan Branch conducted CPR Day, equipping participants with essential knowledge and hands-on skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. In this report, we take a closer look at the discussions, demonstrations, and key moments that highlighted the importance of health awareness and emergency preparedness within the KCC community.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗕𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻
‎
‎On September 21, 1972, Martial Law was proclaimed in the Philippines. In the years that followed, around 70,000 people were imprisoned, 34,000 were tortured, and more than 3,200 were killed, according to Amnesty International. Privately owned media outlets were also seized and closed, while censorship restricted the flow of information.
‎
‎Yet some voices refused to be silenced. Student journalists wrote amid censorship, documenting what they could and keeping spaces for truth alive.
‎
‎54 years later, we remember the numbers, the names, and the voices that resisted. Because when the press is silenced, the people lose a voice. When the truth is threatened, we write louder.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | The St. Columban Arts Center served as the venue for the PhilHealth YAKAP Program on September 21, gathering fourth-year students and faculty members for a discussion on essential health services, benefits, and social insurance. Grazelle Mae L. Veloso, Social Insurance Assistant I, led the session and provided participants with relevant information as they prepared for life beyond college.

‎Following the program, the Philippine Red Cross–Kabankalan Branch conducted CPR Day at the same venue, where participants learned basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills and proper emergency response. The session was led by Jarlie Alucitain, Branch Head of the Philippine Red Cross–Kabankalan Branch, who guided the participants through hands-on activities and emphasized that anyone can save lives.

𝗡𝗢𝗪 | Following the PhilHealth YAKAP Program, the St. Columban Arts Center is now turning into a hands-on learning space as the Philippine Red Cross Kabankalan Branch leads CPR Day this morning, September 21. Fourth-year students and faculty members are actively participating in the session, learning essential cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills and gaining practical knowledge that could help save lives in times of emergency.

‎Leading the session is Jarlie Alucitain, Branch Head of the Philippine Red Cross–Kabankalan Branch, who emphasizes that “anyone can save lives,” underscoring the importance of being equipped with the knowledge and skills to respond during emergencies.
