And "QUOTE":
"Republic Act No. 11053 exists, not to destroy organizations, but to protect lives. There are better ways to build unity: through mentorship, shared goals, service, and genuine respect. Brotherhood should lift people up, not break them down."
IN RE: On the recent death of a 19-year old student due to excessive hazing.
Hazing is not tradition — it’s harm.
We all want belonging. We all want brotherhood, friendship, and shared identity. But pain, humiliation, and violence should never be the price of admission.
Republic Act No. 11053 exists, not to destroy organizations, but to protect lives. There are better ways to build unity: through mentorship, shared goals, service, and genuine respect. Brotherhood should lift people up, not break them down.
Strength is not measured by how much pain someone can endure, but by how much dignity we are willing to preserve.
Let us choose traditions that inspire, not injure.
