𝗨𝗦𝗚-𝗖𝗢𝗔 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗢𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳 𝗮𝘁 𝗨𝗦𝗠

The Commission on Audit (COA) of the University Student Government of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) officially took their oath of office for Academic Year 2026-2027 on July 30, 2026 at the USG Building.

The ceremony was attended by COA Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners from all colleges of USM.

United in one mission, the newly sworn-in officers pledged to uphold responsible stewardship and transparent governance of student funds for the academic year.

In her message, COA Chairperson Rosemarie Besañez called on the officers to remain steadfast in their duties.
“I encourage each one of us to remain committed and let us continue to serve with integrity and excellence,” Besañez stated.

The oath-taking marks the formal start of COA’s duties as the financial watchdogs of the USG, tasked to ensure transparency and accountability in all student government transactions.

𝗨𝗦𝗚 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁

The University Student Government (USG) of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) Officers pay their first courtesy call for this semester of academic year to the University President this 27th Day of July 2026 at the Administration Building of the said university.

The officers discussed their concerns for the welfare of the student body, such as conflicts of schedules in classes, traditional and newly initiated events, and other matters for this semester of the academic year.

University President Jonald Pimentel gave his thoughts and advices for the initiated plans of the student organization for this semester.

The said officers ensured the President that they will give quality events and clear communication to the administration to ensure proper coordination, and the office itself assures the organization for their overall support throughout the semester and to the entire academic year.

The University of Southern Mindanao(USM) officially ushered in a new academic chapter through USM Convocation 2026, held at the USM Auditorium.
‎
‎The program commenced with the Parade of Colleges, followed by the introduction of the University's academic and administrative officials, faculty members, and staff from its various colleges, symbolizing the institution's unity and unwavering commitment to academic excellence.
‎
‎The ceremony also featured the recognition of the University Laboratory School–USM (ULS–USM), the solemn Marching of Colors, and the recognition of the outstanding passers of the University of Southern Mindanao College Entrance Examination (USMCEE).
‎
‎Leading this year's awardees was John Randolf S. Jamero, who secured the Top 1 spot in the USMCEE with an impressive average of approximately 87%, exemplifying academic excellence, perseverance, and determination.
‎
‎As the University community embarks on another academic year, the convocation reaffirms USM's commitment to excellence, integrity, service, and the continuous pursuit of knowledge.

The University Student Government (USG) has officially received its accreditation from the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) on July 20, 2026, making it the first student government organization to be accredited this academic year.

This accreditation strengthens USG’s commitment to serve the student body with transparency, accountability, and more impactful programs for all USM students.

With OSA accreditation, USG is now better equipped to lead initiatives that promote student welfare, leadership, and campus engagement throughout the academic year.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝗨𝗦𝗠 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗦 𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗘, 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗛𝗠𝗘𝗡 𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

Through a simultaneous kick-off, the University of Southern Mindanao officially started the 3-day freshmen college and university orientation on July 20, 2026.

The first day of the orientation marked the introduction of school policies, regulations, safety protocols, and instructions on the university's systematic grading processes.

The college orientation, that was held in the morning, was facilitated by each college's faculty and staff, along with their respective Local Student Government.

Meanwhile, the university orientation was conducted in the afternoon, with the University Student Government taking part during the said program. Among the oriented students were shifters and transfer students, who were also required to attend the program.

During the orientation, significant university benefits were also discussed with regards to healthcare, insurances, scholarship programs, and other higher education covered assistance.

The university orientation was concluded with the students participating to an earthquake drill. The consecutive orientation was successfully commenced through the hands of dedicated head organizer of the whole program, Office of Student Affairs.

‎• Wear appropriate attire in accordance with the University's dress code.
‎• Arrive at least 30 minutes before the official start of the program to allow ample time for gate entry, attendance, and seating.
‎• Follow the instructions of University officials, facilitators, and organizers throughout the program.
‎• Stay attentive and take note of important information regarding the University's policies, student services, academic guidelines, and campus life.
• Students bringing motor vehicles must present a valid driver's license upon entering the university.
• Backpacks are not allowed inside the auditorium. Please bring only your essential belongings or make the necessary arrangements before entering the venue.
