𝐔𝐒𝐌 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬

The University of Southern Mindanao Graduate School conducted its orientation program for incoming graduate students on August 15, 2026, at the Graduate School Hall. The activity familiarized the students with the University’s academic policies, support services, research expectations, and other essential guidelines for graduate education.

The program also marked the beginning of a new chapter under the leadership of the new Graduate School Dean,𝗗𝗿. 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣. 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻, who welcomed the students and encouraged them to pursue their studies with commitment, integrity, and academic excellence. The University President, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗟. 𝗣𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹 and the Vice President for Academic Affairs,𝗗𝗿. 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖. 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗴, likewise delivered inspiring messages, urging the students to embrace their graduate journey with perseverance, purpose, and a commitment to serving society.

Through the orientation, the Graduate School reaffirmed its commitment to providing the guidance, resources, and supportive academic environment necessary for a meaningful and successful graduate journey.

The webinar, titled “Comparative School Leadership: Lessons from the Philippines and Thailand,” will feature 𝐉𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐒. 𝐀ñ𝐨𝐥𝐠𝐚, 𝐉𝐫., 𝐌𝐀𝐓, faculty member of Muban Chombueng Rajabhat University, Thailand, as the resource speaker. The activity aims to provide participants with comparative perspectives on school leadership and educational management practices in the Philippines and Thailand.

Graduate students, educators, and school leaders are encouraged to participate in this academic engagement.

The USM Graduate School expresses its profound sorrow and deepest condolences over the tragic passing of one of its recent graduates, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐏. 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡 , a graduate of the Doctor of Philosophy in Education major in Biology.
Dr. Abdullah’s successful completion of her doctoral degree reflected her dedication to scholarship, perseverance, and commitment to advancing knowledge. Her achievement remains a source of pride for the Graduate School, and her legacy as a scholar will continue to inspire future generations of graduate students.
The Graduate School strongly condemns all forms of violence and respectfully calls upon the concerned authorities to conduct a thorough, impartial, and expeditious investigation to ensure that justice is served in accordance with the law.
