For the second time, the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) unites PICE and PSABE on stage as Joseph F. Mzher from the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) and Danica P. Rotaquio from the Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (PSABE) step up to represent the college in Mr. and Ms. Freshmen 2026 on August 28.

This alliance aim to showcase excellence, unity and camaraderie of CEIT as the two society join forces to compete with confidence and pride.

Through teamwork and determination Joseph and Danica will carry the banner of the CEIT, highlighting not only their individual talents but also the strong collaboration of PICE and PSABE.

The Mr. and Ms. Freshmen 2026 pageant is one of the highlights of the University of Southern Mindanao Freshmen Day celebration with the theme inspired by Disney Princess Characters.

A new academic year begins with another milestone.

The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers โ€“ USM Student Chapter is now officially accredited by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) for the 1st Semester of Academic Year 2026โ€“2027.

With this accreditation, we're now ready to continue creating meaningful opportunities for learning, leadership, and service within the Civil Engineering community.

What comes next? Well, that's still under construction. Just watch out, because there's always more to expect from PICE, the best!

Among the 18,405 examinees who took the University of Southern Mindanao College Entrance Examination (USMCEE) 2026, ten Civil Engineering freshmen emerged as top scorers.

Lex Dador from BSCE 1-A secured 3rd place with an overall score of 84%.

Four studentsโ€”Sean Andrei M. Agapay, Charles Joshua M. Cabardo, Lady Dhennice E. De Vera, and Xyra Venice C. Penalesโ€”tied for 4th place with an overall score of 83%.

Five freshmen also tied for 5th place with an overall score of 82%, namely: Mark Ezekiel S. Agrave, Dy Aliyya-Faith Amilbahar, Ernest John Guinsatao, Arjay H. Lopez, and Rubyrt Tajan.

The event marked the beginning of the freshmen's journey as future civil engineers. Guided by the current PICEโ€“USM SC officers, the election was successfully conducted.
