The 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 officially started its journey toward the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 today, 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟎𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔. 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐂𝐄𝐃 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 gathered in the lobby for a General Assembly to discuss goals, coordination, logistics, and strategies.

During the meeting, the body reviewed shared plans to ensure the team is ready to win. The lobby was full of excitement as student leaders and classmates worked together on competitive strategies. With the game plan now ready, the college is moving fast to ensure everyone is at their best.

The College of Education conducted a whole-day facility cleaning and campus enhancement activity on April 23, 2026, as part of its preparation for the upcoming accreditation by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The initiative was carried out through the collaborative efforts of the CED Local Student Government, faculty members, administrative staff, and students.

The activity aimed to ensure that all classrooms, offices, and shared learning spaces meet the required standards of safety, cleanliness, functionality, and organization. Participants engaged in general cleaning, waste management, minor repairs, and improvement of physical learning environments to create a more conducive and compliant academic setting.

ISO accreditation is a globally recognized certification that evaluates institutions based on established quality management systems, such as ISO 9001. These standards focus on consistent service delivery, continuous improvement, risk management, and adherence to documented procedures. For educational institutions, this means maintaining well-organized facilities, ensuring student safety, and demonstrating efficient administrative and academic processes.

In line with these principles, the College of Education also reviewed its internal procedures, documentation practices, and maintenance protocols to align with ISO requirements. The preparation reflects the institution’s commitment to quality assurance, accountability, and excellence in education.

Through this initiative, the College not only strengthens its readiness for ISO assessment but also promotes a culture of shared responsibility among stakeholders. The active participation of students and staff highlights the institution’s collective effort to uphold high standards and provide a safe, clean, and effective learning environment.

A moment of pride and celebration filled the academic community as 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗦. 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮, a first-year Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English and Assistant Executive Secretary of the Local Student Government, secured 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 in the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗕𝘂𝗵𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗶 𝗕𝗮𝗶 𝗛𝗮𝗱𝗷𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴: 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗰𝘆 – 𝗔 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁.

The competition was held yesterday, April 13, 2026, at the University of Southern Mindanao-Auditorium, gathering young writers who paid tribute to the life and legacy of Bai Hadja Matabay Plang.

Genova’s entry, titled “𝘽𝘼𝙡𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙑𝙚𝙞𝙡: 𝙈𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝘽𝙖𝙞’𝙨 𝙇𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙘𝙮; 𝙍𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙒𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙙, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘼𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮,” earned praise for its clarity, sincerity, and thoughtful storytelling. His essay reflected on Mother Bai’s enduring influence, portraying her as a symbol of strength, wisdom, and transformative leadership whose legacy continues to inspire today’s generation.

This achievement marks an encouraging milestone in Genova’s journey as both an aspiring educator and writer. His recognition not only highlights his dedication to academic excellence but also affirms the power of young voices to honor history through meaningful and heartfelt expression.

In that quiet act, greatness was redefined as humility, leadership as service, and power as compassion.

This sacred day asks us to pause and examine the posture of our own hearts. Are we willing to kneel in service? Are we ready to forgive even when it hurts?
