𝗦𝗢𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 | 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆? 𝗨𝗦𝗠-𝗖𝗔 𝗦𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗚𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁𝘆! ✨

𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟵 | With high spirits and loud laughter, CA Sophomores poured their hands and hearts into the preparation for 𝘾𝘼-𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙙𝙮𝙖 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, finishing off eye-catching banderitas made from what others would simply call trash - strips of old fabric.

This creative twist isn’t just about decoration — it’s a nod to the vibrant spirit of Filipino fiestas, where colors fill the streets and ukay-ukay stalls pop up everywhere. From discarded clothes to fluttering festival flags, the Sophomores proved that sustainability can be festive too!

Earlier, the society also set up the poles for the upcoming banderitas competition, “𝙒𝙖𝙜𝙞-𝙒𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙮𝙬𝙖𝙮: 𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙠𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖 𝙨𝙖 𝘽𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙨” proudly displayed along the Lanzonesan.

𝗦𝗢𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 | 𝗖𝗔-𝗦𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗚𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗨𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗔-𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗱𝘆𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 💛

𝗔𝘂𝗴. 𝟮𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 | Following various preparations for the upcoming CA Week, the Sophomore Society kickstarted the day with a competitive spirit as members began its activities with the installation of the society’s banderitas for the event of “𝙒𝙖𝙜𝙞-𝙒𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙮𝙬𝙖𝙮: 𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙣𝙜 𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙠𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖 𝙨𝙖 𝘽𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙨”.

The undertaking involved the painting of bamboo poles and the setting up of banderitas, both of which highlights the society’s dedication and collaborative efforts in achieving excellence. The participation of the members demonstrated not only artistic creativity but also a shared commitment to represent the agricultural discipline with pride and unity.

Through this activity, the Sophomore Society set a meaningful tone for the upcoming celebration, reinforcing the values of cooperation and resourcefulness that define the College of Agriculture.

𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀' 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵

To recognize the dedication, ingenuity, and passion of licensed agriculturists across the country, we celebrate Philippine Agriculturist Month this July.

This annual observance was established through Proclamation No. 544, signed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on May 10, 2024. It highlights the critical role that agriculturists play in securing our food systems, promoting sustainable development, and advancing agricultural science and innovation.

The proclamation also calls for stronger collaboration among the Department of Agriculture, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Local Government Units (LGUs), State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and the private sector to strengthen support for agriculturists through research, policymaking, enterprise, and community development.

As we commemorate this month, let us honor the dedicated professionals shaping the future of Philippine agriculture — from the fields to laboratories, classrooms, and policy tables.
