Dreaming of a career that blends compassion, skill, and leadership? The Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (BSM) program at the University of Southern Mindanao, College of Health Sciences, Department of Midwifery, prepares future midwives to serve with excellence.

What is BS Midwifery?

•Bachelor of Science in Midwifery is a four-year degree program consisting of general education and professional courses which prepare future midwives for higher level midwifery competencies. This includes general education and professional courses in the first three levels. The fourth year level is intended for intensive clinical l practicum and midwifery specialization in DOH/CHED accredited affiliating institutions.

These experiences will further enhance their midwifery competencies in the different fields of practice and develop their competencies in the chosen field of specialization. Graduates of this program shall be qualified to take the Midwifery Licensure Examination to perform tasks of a full-fledged midwife.

The College of Health Sciences successfully commemorated its 22nd Year, Pagsaulog 2026 and the observance of National Science Day last February 27, 2026, through a series of scholarly and engaging activities designed to highlight the integration of science and health education.

The celebration featured:
•Midwifery and Nursing Departments – Practical sessions on Vital Signs Monitoring
•Pharmacy Department – Demonstration of Sugar Refractometry
•Radiologic Technology Department – Development and dissemination of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials

These initiatives underscored the College’s commitment to advancing scientific knowledge, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and promoting excellence in health sciences education. The event provided a meaningful platform for students and faculty to engage in applied learning and to strengthen their role as future healthcare professionals.
