The Horticulture Society participated in the joint anniversary celebration of USMARDC’s 50th and PICRI’s 40th anniversaries, held at the USMARDC in Kabacan, Cotabato.

In line with the event’s theme, “Cultivating Innovations, Growing Resilient Communities,” the society showcased its student-developed products, including Abaca Wine, Hortella, Chili Garlic Sauce, and Moringa Cookies, during the Product Innovation Showcase. These products reflected the students’ creativity, technical capability, and commitment to sustainable and value-added horticultural innovations.

The society expressed its appreciation to the event organizers for the opportunity to contribute to this milestone celebration and conveyed its enthusiasm for future collaborations.

Commendations are extended to the participants of the Horticulture Society for their dedication and effort in making the event a success.

The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) Horticulture Society has achieved a remarkable feat, attaining a 100% pass rate in the November 2025 Agriculture Licensure Examination (ALE). All seven examinees who took the exam on November 19-21, 2025, have successfully passed, bringing pride to the institution.

‎The University of Southern Mindanao – Tissue Culture Laboratory proudly welcomed the Kenya Government and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization in a benchmarking visit last August 27, 2025, to explore and adopt the laboratory’s advanced tissue culture techniques for banana ‘Cardava’.
‎
‎In support of this initiative, the NGO from Netherlands also monitored the ongoing banana-growing programs, further reinforcing efforts toward sustainability and agricultural development.

‎This significant engagement, led by Sir Harem Roca (Horticulture Professor) with Ma’am Alemer Cabantug (Laboratory in charge), is a proud milestone for the Horticulture Society, showcasing its vital role in advancing research, innovation, and global collaboration.
