DISTRICT RE ECHO: KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION 2026

A meaningful and enriching day dedicated to learning, collaboration, and professional growth. 💚✨

The District RE Echo Orientation for Kindergarten Teachers on the Utilization of Literacy and Numeracy Learning Materials for Kindergarten Learners, held on August 7, 2026, began with a warm and inspiring Welcome Remarks from OIC of Ignacia A. Guillermo Central Elementary School Maam Merjessa A Torres, Master Teacher II, followed by the Presentation of Speakers, Participants, and Rationale led by Maam Christine Estillore.

📚 PART 2 – ORIENTATION PROPER 📚

The learning journey continued through four informative sessions:

✨ Session 1 – Walkthrough on D.O. No. 009 and D.O. No. 015, s. 2026, focusing on the Three-Term School Calendar, Revised Classroom Assessment, Grading, Awards, and Recognition for Kindergarten.

✨ Session 2 – Walkthrough on the Revised Kindergarten Progress Report and Kindergarten Lesson Plan (ILAW Framework), with Lovers Mae T. Ibut as Resource Speaker.

✨ Session 3 – Discussion on the Add-on Highlights of the Philippine ECD Checklist (Booklet Type).

✨ Session 4 – Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) in Early Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (ELLN), facilitated by Rosel P. Impas.

The orientation provided valuable knowledge, practical guidance, and meaningful insights that will help us become more responsive and effective Kindergarten teachers.

Our heartfelt appreciation to the District Principal In-Charge Sir Jeffrey Charl D. Ligan, speakers, Maam Lovers Mae T Ibut and Maam Rosenel P. Impas, and fellow Kindergarten teachers for making this learning experience successful and worthwhile.

𝐒𝐃𝐒 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐀𝐒 𝐈𝐈, 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬

The Schools Division Office of Davao Occidental, led by Schools Division Superintendent Rommel R. Jandayan, EdD, CESO V, and accompanied by District Principal In-Charge Jeffrey Charl D. Ligan, conducted an official visit to Kalbay National High School, Kalbay Elementary School, and Maria Rita Medel Elementary School to assess the condition of school facilities affected by the recent earthquake and provide immediate assistance to affected school personnel.

As part of the visit, cash assistance was distributed to earthquake-affected teachers through the Division Disbursing Officer, reaffirming the Division's commitment to supporting the welfare and recovery of its personnel.

An on-site assessment was conducted at Kalbay National High School together with representatives from the Provincial Engineering Office, the Division Engineer, the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), the Social Mobilization (SocMob) Office, and the Supply Office to evaluate the extent of structural damage caused by the earthquake.

The inspection focused on identifying the necessary engineering interventions and validating the condition of damaged buildings to ensure that future rehabilitation efforts will uphold the highest standards of safety for learners and school personnel.

A clearing operation for the school's totally damaged classrooms was likewise initiated to prepare the site for the construction of Learning Continuity Spaces (LCS), which will provide safe and conducive temporary learning environments while rehabilitation is underway.

The collaborative efforts of the Schools Division Office, district leadership, engineering partners, and support offices demonstrate a unified commitment to accelerating school recovery, restoring learning continuity, and strengthening disaster preparedness in the affected communities.

Through responsive leadership and coordinated action, the Department of Education continues to prioritize the safety, well-being, and resilience of both its personnel and learners as schools move forward with recovery and rebuilding initiatives.

The Provincial Governor Atty. Franklin P. Bautista has issued Memorandum Order No. 92, s. 2026, dated August 1, 2026, directing the resumption of full face-to-face classes in all public and private elementary and secondary schools across the Province of Davao Occidental.

In addition, the order marks the return to regular in-person learning, reaffirming the Province's commitment to ensuring quality education while prioritizing the safety and well-being of all learners, teaching personnel, and school communities.
