Coastal Clean-Up Activity of Casuguran Elementary School
Date: September 19, 2026
On September 19, 2026, the Casuguran Elementary School conducted a Coastal Clean-Up Activity participated in by the pupils from Grades 4 to 6, together with their teachers and school community members. The activity was held in support of the International Coastal Cleanup 2026, promoting environmental awareness and encouraging young learners to take an active role in protecting the coastal environment.
The activity began with a brief orientation on the importance of keeping the shoreline clean and the proper collection and handling of waste. The pupils, guided by their teachers, worked together in collecting various forms of litter found along the beach. They gathered the collected waste using sacks and other available materials and helped clear the coastal area of scattered garbage and debris.
The participation of the Grade 4 to Grade 6 pupils demonstrated their cooperation, discipline, and concern for the environment. Through the activity, the learners experienced firsthand the importance of proper waste disposal and the collective responsibility of keeping the community and coastal areas clean.
The Coastal Clean-Up Activity was not only a means of improving the cleanliness of the shoreline but also an opportunity to instill environmental responsibility, teamwork, and civic consciousness among the pupils. It served as a meaningful learning experience that reminded everyone that even small efforts can contribute to the protection and preservation of our coastal resources.
The activity ended with a sense of accomplishment among the pupils and teachers. Casuguran Elementary School remains committed to supporting environmental programs and encouraging learners to become responsible stewards of nature and active members of a clean and sustainable community.
